    Hi all,

Ive a Forebird oil burner that comes on for about 5 minutes before it cuts out and wont restart.

After it cuts out, the reset button wont click and pushing the big red button on the burner does nothing either.

When it all cools down, the reset button will then click when pushed and off itll purge and ignite again only to cut out again 5 minutes later.

The water pump still pumps, Ive changed out the photocell but no luck.

Im thinking perhaps its the solenoid on the pump ?

What would you lads or lassies think ?

If it were the fuel pump it wouldnt fire up at all aIm reckoninv and if it were the burner it wouldnt fire up at all.either Im reckoning.

    Any recommendations???

Sounds like the circulating pump or lack of water in the system.

    Open or closed system?
    What make/type of boiler?

Are the rads heating up for the five minutes it's running.

Next time it cuts out try turning up the thermostat and see if it turns back on. You could have a bad pump or the boiler could be airlocked. The boiler thermostat.
