Saw Sean Dyche being interviewed yesterday and he came across very well, very funny. He fines players for having mobile phones in team meetings. Can't see him working out with a bunch of football superstars but he probably could do a decent job higher up the table.

Lampard fines players 20 grand for being late for training and 500 for every minute late for a team meeting. So superstars are well used to discipline.

Spurs should have gone for rafa, and so should arsenal if they'd sense

There must be something big on the brink

    https://twitter.com/danroan/status/1200436642751889410?s=19

The first new CEO, got the job and left before she even started. The next one considered it but backed out before an agreement. Then again, this guy gets the job and backs out soon after.

Is there a scandal brewing that people are only being privvy to after they agree to the job?

Is the TV Deal about to fall apart? Corruption?

Just thinking could BT and Sky trottle there broadband customers on Stephen's day to effect Amazon's streaming of the games.

Stephens day would be more effective than the games next week to it.

It would be a very underhanded thing to do in a very competitive market for the PL rights.

its a holding midfielder, very good and functional, they'll be good with nabi/ ox/ lallana/ milner/ shaq.

utd would love those 5 options of the bench.

amazon if they wanted, could buy and sell sky and bt 100x if they wanted. sky/bt own nothing except some rights.
would love to see amazon blitz them.

I don't think Amazon could afford to buy Comcast to be honest.

Ya pocket change for Amazon. This is only a test to see would they get more prime subscriptions and what those new subscribers will buy. If it goes well Amazon could be a serious player for the next round of rights.

    The boys are being reunited.

Eamon, Johnny & Liam with Ivan Yates in the Bill role will be the panel for the Premier Sports games next week and St Stephen’s Day.

That’s a kinda fun idea as an occasional novelty... can’t stand Ivan Yates though.

Are you suggesting playing Naby, Ox or Shaqiri at holding midfield?

The drop off from Fabinho to Wijnaldum (most likely to fill in) or Lallana is huge.

I don't think Amazon could afford to buy Comcast to be honest.

Market value of both would suggest otherwise

Amazon value in billions : 916

    Comcast in billions : 192

Comcast are massive obviously but Amazon are a different beast altogether.

It's about time the likes of Sky and BT are being forced into a more competitive market.

The level of paywall those two (especially sky) are putting PL games behind are a joke.

Not that I'd pay a penny for watching football but surely a fragmented market is exactly what most people do not want.

tis true. apparently the litany of streaming sites (netflix, prime, hbo go, etc) has lead to more piracy. to be able to watch everything you need to subscribe a load of services.

That's what people wanted it was ruled that sky had a monopoly. All it's done is increase the prices for the consumer and increase the players wages. Now you need 3 or 4 subscriptions to watch the same amount of games and sky are paying so much for the rights they can't afford to show la Liga and champions league.

no, i'm saying he's a holding midfielder, and liverpool should be able to, relatively easily, absorb the loss for the 6-8 weeks

Dunphys, Giles, Brady and erm... Ivan Yates are presenting and analysing for premier sports this December starting on Tuesday night.

    The lads are back.

Giles is as relevant to current premier league football as a bag of potatoes.

Oh great..... (with the exception of Brady) more outdated, half baked, not thought out or researched opinions by lads who are dinosaurs, about 40 years behind the game in the EPL, all being egged on by the loudmouth troll Yeats.
I listen to Dunphys podcast now and then, and while there is the odd good contributer, the chats with Giles are embarrassing at times, just terrible. Like 2 ould lads on barstools, mixing up players, no research, and you'll be no more in the know after listening to them, in fact, you'll possibly be more muddled. Not for me....

On a more serious note, who would be a young journalist in Ireland. You can be as smart, qualified as you like, but the likes of Yeats will still get the gig ahead of you

Giles has plenty of constructive things to say about the game.
I find it odd that so many dismiss him and his opinion. He has a great understanding of the game.

    I agree with you.

He gives an honest opinion, unlike the robots that replaced him on Rte.

Likewise with Brady. Might be interesting to hear what he has to say now that he won’t have to worry about Wenger approving of everything.

You'd hope so but it's not like a usual 6-8 week period in fairness. I think there's 8 games in the next 3 weeks alone.

Sterling scores for City v Newcastle (away), sounds like it's a classic 12.30 KO, sleepy football.

While agree he's a big miss, we did pretty well with Henderson in that position last season. Fabinho wasn't a regular until January of this year.

Bad timing given the amount of games in December but the fixtures themselves are reasonably kind.

    Nice goal there for Newcastle

    H'way the lads!

Fernandino is on a yellow so Newcastle should be testing that.

Why are BT saying that was Almiron’s first assist for Newcastle, he got a couple last season after joining.

First Premier League assist. Who are you saying he got assists against?
