Possibly... but then again, he was what the likes of RTE 'thought' was contemporary comedy. (Keep in mind, they think Tubridy is 'contemporary'- the guy who wouldn't even get a midweek slot in the time of Gay Byrne or Mike Murphy's days).

A bit of a Frankie Howard type, in many respects. But with even more dated material.

RTE really have their finger on the pulse!

What? He was sacked on the spot.

Im going to explain this again,
If this was a beautiful woman grabbing the micky of some lad in Coppers (which happens every weekend) it would never see the light of day.

Or maybe to put it another way. If it was some big burly lad grabbing your knob in coppers, would you be ok with it? Or say if it was some guy in your workplace, would you be ok with it then?

And Porter puts his finger... well, where it shouldn't. (Allegedly).

He did it to small time bands that were on his show as well. Sent unsolicited naked pics. Demanded same back from them or he would make sure their music didn't get played.

Oh cripes... no wonder people on twitter are calling him out.

I feel a "Poor me, I'm a sex addict" article in a tabloid coming soon..

He will tell us he has had help and has conquered his demons brought on from feeling like the only gay in Tallaght and explain that the inappropriate behaviour was due to overwhelming cravings due to sex addiction...

As I think he is a crap comedian who is rehashing much that has been done before I hope he just fecks off into obscurity..

He could use the Kevin Spacey defence of "I now choose to live my life as a gay man". That worked out really well for him anyway.

Or has that cat already been left out of the bag???

There seems to be two threads re AP. I posted in the other one. I hope his career in the entertainment business starts to succeed again.

it's been great that he hasnt been around. Because he's awful.

Totally agree with you. Have never taken to his brand of comedy. The longer he's kept out of the spotlight the better.

Speak for yourself. I'm male and I'd take issues with any man or woman grabbing me. Was in a bar in Dublin a few years ago and a lady slapped my ass. She thought it was a bit of fun. I pulled her up over it. My wife gave her a piece of her mind also.

it makes me uncomfortable that people can destroy peoples lives without proof.

Mod: Guys, he has been vindicated.

Hearsay, speculation and 'stuff I heard from a friend' is not reason enough to drag his name through the mud any further, regardless of what allegations you have heard.
