    Hi all,

    I am looking to see if someone can explain where the eave is on a structure?

    I have looked this up on the net and getting hugely different answers depending on what part of the world there in

    I would say the “eaves” refers to the attached the area of the roof which overhangs the external wall and typically includes fascia/soffit/gutter/overhanging piece of rafter and the void space created therein.

    Context?
    What are you trying to work out?
    For example, in planning terms, single storey extension can be exempt up to eaves level, this usually means the eaves of the extension matching the original.
