    Hopefully.

If you know 100% that the project story is true then the best thing might be to say it.

You're the one making the extraordinary claim here: to wit, that the lads are telling porkies about Mark's lack of day to day involvement. Either back that up with something other than speculation, or be prepared to have it dismissed.

Horgan is a producer. The email asking what he was doing was funny. This online speculation about what he’s actually doing is creepy.

    Wow, this has gotten weird.

Hes an arsehole, his twitter feed is all the evidence you need of that.

I don't think he's too bad on the show overall but yeah on Twitter he comes across terribly. Like someone who feels they are incapable of being wrong about anything.

Can we have an amnesty on the Mark Horgan discussion?

Let the ceasefire being at the end of this sentence. Full stop. Full stop.

    Is Mark back yet?

    Is Mark back yet?

Not yet. He's either working on a project or has some serious personal problems.

No reason for the two to be mutually exclusive. Could be working on a project related to serious personal problems. That'd implode this thread.

Maybe the project IS his personal problems?

I can just about make out the SC office from my window, I'll buy a telescope at lunch to peer in and see if I can spot Mark. I'll report back asap.

    LOL

Whatever is “happening” in the seconds captains office...... they want to keep it a secret, the question is why ???

Listened to the look back of the Henry handball on OTB today and they had Ken's full commentary of the moment which was great. Most I've heard him mentioned since he left!

    It's pretty hilarious:

The link Ken provided is an article on it, but the audio is in the tweet he has quoted from Ronan Mullen.

Literally burst out laughing in the office hearing his voice go up 3 octives as he realises Henry's sourcery.

Remember listening to that live, I almost laughed when Ken said 'BASKETBALL STYLE!' almost.

I'd love if there was more of their reaction available, from what I remember they were taken aback by the hysteria, and they had Xaiver Rivoire ripping into the French team, haven't heard him in a long time.

Richie doing his Dr. Anthomy Clare schtick while the other 2 lads hold an intervention on Ken as he's having an apoplectic physchotic episode.

I'm assuming Ken is off the fags again.

Bumped into him after the match last night. He was seething then too. I do share his McClean frustration in fairness

he's not wrong. I'd get rid of Mick too and put Kenny right in. What have we got to lose?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 522 ✭✭✭Raisins

Ken is right it’s soul destroying watching older, technically poor players like McLean and Whelan from Scottish league or the championship boot the ball outta play. If it was literally a big part of my job to cover that Irish team I’d be as frustrated as ken, thankfully it’s not.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,777 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

The nonsense line of questioning as to the different starting line up he would have picked last night spectacularly missed the point.. point was that the campaign should have started with a clean slate all the way back against Gibraltar. Then the starting lineup against Denmark could possibly have looked a lot different. As it was, McCarthy had boxed himself into a very conservative box with little room for anything else.

I haven’t heard Ken so passionate in a long time.... I had assumed he was fully dead inside....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,795 ✭✭✭dulux99

Having been an outspoken critic of the level of quality recently, I certainly can't fault them today. Highly entertaining :D

Brilliant show today. Perfectly captured the mood of frustration at another ‘glorious’ loss versus being optimistic about ultimately achieving nothing. The easy show would’ve been “fair play didn’t the lads try hard” but having Ken being difficult and going against the narrative, whether you agree or not, made it great. Also fun to head Richie dip into his other dayjob! “Alright now reign it in a bit...” Great radio.
