Who can suggest an app which can run over bluetooth so that those who can't or don't want to pay to sit together can send messages to each other while on the plane and in flight.

edit: seems that bluetooth is disabled in flight mode along with Wifi on my phone but can be re-enabled while keeping flight mode on.

That's a bit sad. Why not pay to sit beside someone and talk to a person and not a screen?

I think any travelling pair could well endure being separated from each other on a 30 minute hop from Dublin to Liverpool if they have some sort of peer to peer communication method to convey information between them should the need arise.
Choosing a seat can cost considerably more than €4 per journey leg.
