The guy in the middle looks RIDICULOUS.

The three of them look ridiculous, charity shop models.

Not really sure what was expected, small budget and a lot of debutantes. It was grand, thinking back to the first season of Love/Hate and if it wasn't for Aidan Gillen I'd say it would have been canned.

Acting in the 1st series of LH was atrocious but got better and better as it went on. Hopefully darklands is the same

The opening scene of LH was Darrens brother been gunned down, immediately you were invested in it to see who done it. They filled that show with likable characters too you could root for even though they were drug dealing criminals.
There was alot of character building in that show, something they didn't bother with in this.

Totally agree. Love/Hate gripped the viewer from the very beginning. And why wouldn’t it with its graphic and realistic violent scenes, and edge of your seat cat and mouse character development .
Darklands seemed to shy away from the violence and most of the acting was awful. I think only last episode even had a shooting death scene and it wasn’t graphic like LH did. Whatever about budgets etc, it was basically red rock set in Bray with a bit of a gangland rivalry storyline. It was fairly awful.
I can’t understand why RTÉ don’t do another series like L/H, it’s not as if the story lines have gone away.
