Wilbur Smith - Order of Reading?

Hi guys, So I got a present of Birds of Prey and have finished it yesterday. I then went searching for more and found conflicting info on which one to go to next and it appears that I've jumped into his 9th book. Just wondering has anyone read his books and what would you recommend as being the best order to read these in?…

I read the first 7 or 8 as published and really enjoyed them , stopped reading them about 20 years ago so not up to date on the newer ones .
