How long must I own mobile number before porting?

Hi, As per the title.. is there a requirement to own a mobile number for a set period of time before one can port it to another network? I seem to recall reading this somewhere in the past. The number due to be ported would be a PAYG account in this case Thanks

I don't think generally there's a lower time limit. I got a free Meteor SIM a few years back and immediately ported it to Vodafone [for reasons] no problem.

Seconded. I bought an Eir sim last week and ported it straight away without any issue (reason was to get the Vodafone Pixel 3A at a discounted price).
