It really is one of the darkest crimes committed against an individual in this states history.
I hope the punishment can be some way satisfactory.

It's really not, people think that because they find it so unbelievable that two minors committed it.
There's terrible murders every week in Ireland

Im going to take a guess at 12 and out , the review for A will continue on at that time but b’s will conclude

    I'd say you're right unfortunately

Then Boy A should come out and say that.

As part of the review do they have to show remorse for having committed the crime?

What does this mean...is it 12 for murder and 12 for aggravated assault or do they run concurrently or what?

Nobody can post ID’ing remarks here but in the locality everyone knows theres a reason why people might see he comes off as the mastermind / very cold and robotic but its the same reason he isnt the mastermind.

Was wondering the same. So it would be 24 even with review?

Will the two sentences for A run concurrently? I presume so?

Am I accurate: A gets a life sentence with review after 12 and a concurrent 12 year for sexual assault.

They won't be consecutive. Both will run at the same time so yes, concurrently.

why do the judiciary give concurrent sentences as standard?

They usually do. Makes you wonder why they bother giving any sentence at all!

I’m not happy with 12 years for taking her life.

But that would also be the reason that he does.

He has been consistently described as intelligent.

No matter what he is, he thought he was going to get away with it, and all of his actions showed that and no remorse.

    B gets 15 with review after 8.

He'll serve a lot less than 15 years though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,801 ✭✭✭✭suicide_circus

so life and 15 years with review periods. not terrible.

although boy B only got 4 years longer for murder that the lad yesterday got for attempted murder

Reviewed after 8 so he could possibly be out then?

Why can’t they say ****ing 15 and mean 15! This review **** boils my blood.
