Has anyone her converted a 7 seater like a Volkswagen Touran, took out the back seats and use it for farm use?

    Was it fairly straightforward?
    Better than a traditional van?
    Any Pictures?

    Thanks

Not same van but did a Santa Fe , from m1 to n1 or could be other way around , was for a error in tax book , anyway it had to go trough test 48 , had to have tie down straps in back , metal where windows and floor . Good bit to do if u starting from scratch , mine was always a jeep and I had to jump trough hoops for them , I fitted I for Williams toe down and they passed the recessed ones

Insurance could most likely be an issue.

I believe it's less of a problem if the passenger vehicle has a commercial equivalent for example Land Cruisers, Pajero's etc.

For a people carrier this won't be the case. It'd be best ring and get a few quotes before actually going ahead with anything.

No real benefit from a financial point of view. As well to leave it registered as a car and remove the seats.

In the event of an accident I’d worry that
Having all the seats removed to carry loads would be seen as a modification and potentially void insurance.

Plenty of vans about for easy money so I don’t see the need for this messing.

Forgot to mention the addition of a bulk head. Ix35 and Commercials of that type in general are a poor replacement for a proper van. Have you ever tried pulling a genie out of the back of one.

Was just thinking they’d be better than a normal van because they’d have higher spec, can tow 2 ton I think And probably be more comfortable.

I remember reading that someone had done it in the UK but haven’t heard of anyone doing it over here.

Converting to commercial and tax and insurance might be a bit of a headache I’ll have to look into it further.

If VRT has already been paid as a car, it’s a lot more straightforward. Last time I looked, you didn’t have to cover over the windows or even have a false floor to get it classified as a 2 seat commercial

I have done a few, straight forward, source your SQI and follow their instructions. People carrier's are even easier. It may sound a bit crazy but different SQI's can have specs. Even when the revenue were signing off conversions, different revenue offices had different specs or there interpretation.
