Not a bad way to start for Thiago Motta:

There were a few good goals in the game but Kouame's one was special:

Jack Rodwell, supposedly signing with Roma until the end of the season. I know they have injury issues but what an embarrassing signing; have they no academy players at all???
This club were in a CL semi final 18 months ago & now resort to picking up rubbish on the cheap.

As much as I love Italian football it's a sign of how much the standard has dropped, Rodwell will do nothing for you on a Wednesday night in the champions league, however still plenty good enough cover against pretty much every team in the mid to bottom half of the table at the moment

Roma have about 9 first team squad players out with injuries, they'd sign me on a 6 month free right now.

It dose not excuse the lack of talent the likes of cagliari or spal are bringing to the table at the moment

I mean Milan are not even close to being considered AC Milan at the moment,, I love the Italian game and not trying to sell it short but. Standard is low at the moment

What a wasted opportunity by Inter to only draw with Parma but both Juve and Inter had to dig deep midweek in the CL do maybe a knock on effect of that. Great start by Motta , Brescia are not walkovers. Looking forward today to see how Atalanta respond to that hammering during the week, Roma vs Milan could be like watching two drinks fighting but for me the game of the weekend is Fiorentina vs Lazio. Montella looks like he has turned them around and Immobile is on fire.

Atalanta 1-0 down at home to Udinese. Kjaer tries to be too clever and gives it away to Okaka who scores. Pity Kjaer never took a chance like that when he played against Ireland.

1-1 now as Ilicic scores. Initially judged offside but after a very long review the goal is allowed.

Oh dear. How to shoot yourself in the foot. Udinese's Opoku gives away a pen and gets a second yellow in the process. Chance for Atalanta to turn this around.

And Muriel scores for 2-1. Tough for Udinese to get back into this now.

3-1 Atalanta just before half-time. Ilicic gets another. Looks like game over already.

4-1 Atalanta just after the break. Muriel with the finish. This could be a Southampton/Leicester type scenario, though you don't tend to see that in Italian football.

5-1 now. Only 51 minutes gone. Pasalic gets in on the act. Musso had made a vital save from Gomez before that. This could get very ugly for Udinese depending on how badly Atalanta want to punish them. Ilicic won't stop as he's on for a hat-trick.

Another pen for Atalanta. Chance for 6-1. Muriel to take it.

Muriel scores it to get his hat-trick. Still 15 minutes to go.

7-1 now. The 17-year-old sub Traore beats Musso. Think the keeper will be disappointed with that. Still 7 minutes of normal time.

It ends 7-1. Udinese will be lucky that was the extent of it as it could have been more. Sending off was a massive moment. Atalanta up to third, 3 points off Juve.

Milan currently losing to Roma. Have SPAL on Thursday then have a run of Lazio, Juventus & Napoli in the next 3 games after that. I can see maybe 4 points max from those 4 games.

    State of Milan.

Shows what can happen if badly run at the top

whatever about say manchester united after ferguson or dortmund after klopp its scary whats happening in milan , granted they were not exactly run that well when berlusconi was around but atleast money was made available to buy top international players and running top scouting systems around italy

its a huge warning to any top club around the world what can happen , i am old enough to remember just how devastating a team they had in the early to mid 90s they were bigger and better than barcelona or madrid of the modern era

From looking at the highlights Milan appeared to be fortunate they only lost by a goal. Sad to see what's happening to them. There was a rumour in the summer that linked them to Christophe Galtier and Luis Campos. Those two transformed Lille from a team heading for the drop to one in the Champions League, and if they could get them next summer I think they should go for it. As a United fan I want Campos as sporting director at Old Trafford.

Disappointing draw for Napoli as this was a great chance to make ground on Juve and Inter.

Immobile looked quality in Lazio's win over Fiorentina. I feel if they had started him against Celtic on Thursday the result would have been a different story.

Glad to see him do well, great goal.

Inter go top for the night. Brescia lie in 18th, I hope they really did get a sweetheart deal on Balotelli's wages as it's all they might get relying on him. Tonali 110% won't be there next year anyway.

Napoli host Atalanta tomorrow night at 6. Not a lot else jumps out too much other than maybe Lazio vs Torino. Milan play SPAL Thursday if you hate yourself enough to watch that, might be the scariest thing on Halloween night.

Great winning goal for Verona away at Parma tonight:

Gervinho unlucky not to equalise as he hit the crossbar.

I saw stats this morning that said Inter only had 2 shots on target! Maybe Lautaro's goal didn't count due to deflection (I didn't see it), but even still that's a pretty worrying stat considering the opposition.

Milik misses a chance to put Napoli up 2-0. I don't know how he managed to miss it.

1-1 at half time, Meret should have saved the equaliser from Freuler imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

    2-2

Atalanta equaliser seconds beforehand Napoli were denied what looked like a clear penalty.

Ended 2-2, Napoli as you can imagine weren't too pleased.

Juve got out of jail once again. Played against 9 men for quite awhile before Rabiot got himself sent off.

Get a penalty in the 96 minute and Ronny converted

Against 10 men actually. Looks like the second red card was for a benched player.

96th minute penalty for Juve. Need to watch that one.

Great long-range strike from Lazio's Acerbi:

    https://twitter.com/calciopediagoal/status/1189643352280616961

Good win for them over Torino. Immobile is on fire atm.

Smalling got his first goal for Roma, although he couldn't possibly miss it.

Not going well for Ranieri at Samp. The commentator on the highlights said their fans left a banner at the training ground saying 'Sampdoria-Lecce: 3 points'. In the end they had to wait until stoppage time to get a point against Lecce's 10 men.

No Halloween horror for Milan as they win thanks to Suso's nice free-kick.

    https://twitter.com/PremierSportsTV/status/1190016919551787016

Looked like they deserved the win from the highlights. Their next games will be much tougher tests: Lazio, Juve and Napoli.

Can, Khedira, Ramsey and Douglas Costa on the bench and Rabiot suspended for Juve, they really are stacked in CM

Thought De Ligt was lucky not to concede a pen for handball.

Pleased things are going well for Lukaku. 9 goals in 11 league games now.

Balotelli subjected to racist abuse at Verona and ends up being convinced not to walk off by teammates and opponents. Verona went on to beat Brescia.:

    https://twitter.com/HenryBushnell/status/1191021968562282497

Uncomfortable scenes. They probably should have walked off with him, although he did go on to score this great goal:

    The guy is on fire

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,134 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Surely the Italian league need to do something about it, he’s being abused every week it seems.

Ban all the fans until they self police those idiots, it’s the only way it seems.

Surprised that was Lazio's first win at the San Siro in 30 years. Juve and Napoli up next for Milan.

Disappointing result for Atalanta losing at home to Cagliari who are now just behind them on goal difference. Stupid from Ilicic getting himself sent off like that.

Love watching Sassuolo's Jeremie Boga atm. His dribbling skills are great. Didn't realise he used to be on Chelsea's books. He looks like he's ready for a bigger move.

Against AC Milan yes. Won in March against Inter 0-1.

Immobile now at 100 goals in 147 games for Lazio, crazy stats.

Saw a video from the crowd, it would make your stomach churn, nothing will be done I suspect. Also, the Verona manager Juric said he heard no racist chants, when you have the manager of a club denying It you know that racism is endemic there.

'If Balotelli was not ready psychologically to face the Verona fanbase and, above all, such a delicate match in which our city and our coach – among the most beloved figures – was taking his final chance at saving his job, then he should've said so and left his place to someone less irritable than him.
'None of us would've been upset if he had, quite the contrary.
'The personal declarations of one of the leaders of the Verona Curva cannot justify the witch-hunt sparked by the media and institutions in yet another attempt to criminalise and destroy the entire Ultras world.

says the Brescia (Ballotelli's own club) Ultras, in soft support of the Verona racists
