No one is disputing this but that is NOT a reason to not allow them to play extra proper competitive matches at a world cup.
it isnt though because unions, players dont want it. It is window dressing to the real issues.
Financially for smaller unions there would be problems as would issues with the clubs who are primary employers of a lot of the players for sides who dotn make quarters.

    I pretty much guarantee it.

I think Farrell at 12 is a risk for England. He’s not a great centre.

I was almost expecting them to retain Farrell, Manu and Slade at 10, 12 and 13 from last week, tbh.

There are only 2 teams I support in Rugby; Ireland, and whoever England are playing.

    Come on the Kiwis :)

Liam Williams ruled out for Wales due injury.

Pretty sure England have been singing sweet chariot when the Haka has been going on for years. Was usually called disrespectful from opposition fans

    That's a huge blow, he's such a good player.

South Africa should have a big advantage the way things have gone, nice two week break before quarter final which wasn’t overly taxing. Wales on the other hand had no such break and a very tough physical quarter final against France. Wales haven’t really impressed either, I think they’ll deliver their best performance yet but hard to see it being enough.

Why disrespectful? I don’t understand why the rest of the world have to tip toe respectfully around the all blacks

Don’t know how Nowell isn’t at least at 23 for England by now

Totally agree, think fans/teams should be able to respond however they want within reason. I just remember at the time the media thought it was in poor taste (was quite possibly kiwi media)

    Don't think he's fit.

It would be good for Northern hemisphere rugby and rugby in general if both Wales and England won their semis .

A little hard to back them but perhaps this time we should .

I don't think it would because the slow boring tripe that we have to put up with in Europe is not good for Rugby. The southern hemisphere sides play a much higher tempo, more expansive game. I'll always shout for teams like that.
I'll shout for Toulouse in the Champion's cup or any other competition unless they are playing Connacht.

A SH v NH final would be great, a NH v NH one a dream. But I can still only see a SH V SH one. England have the best chance but need a big big start.

England being boring is such an outdated cliche at this stage

They have some of the most exciting backs in rugby and their forwards are all incredibly dynamic with extraordinary handling skills

You can't possibly watch this English team and think they're boring, surely?

    Don't think he's fit.

He's been struggling with injury for a while, but think he was available for selection, just not quite good enough. It does seem strange enough two centres on the bench though, but JJ can and has played wing for them

I'm more confused by Cokanasiga's absence to be honest he seems the ideal type of impact sub to have.

I hope the best team on the day wins, and I hope that team is England. I also hope Wales win. We should support our European brothers. A powerful England team is exactly what Ireland needs to improve their own game, even if it means a few (more) thrashings. Otherwise they continue as dirty damp sponge.

It would be good to be playing the World champions and runners up in the 6 Nations .

And in saying that I love watching the close quarters rugby, along with the free flowing. It's all part of the game.

Want nothing but high tempo, fast running, and loosely structured rugby? Watch League
