Hope the South Africans win the cup.
    Always love the Bokke!
Time to get 'em into the 6 nations?
    Ditch Scotland?

Remember Eddie Jones talking about relegating the Italians.
Seemed a bit harsh from him.

And there was me thinking BOD was checking the direction of the wind when dropping the blade of grass.

Thought that was a bit off myself booing the haka. But when the crowd have muppets like this in it it doesnt surprise me. They're just event junkies who are there for the piss up

In fairness, at 22 nil down against NZL (and after lossing to Japan) it probably was more about the piss up for most at that stage.

Maybe they should have a European team without the French . Obviously keep the French as the French team to avoid confusion .

That smarmy clown “Drico” got his reward for trying to be the big fella that time. His display of arrogance landed him literally neck deep in it. New Zealanders are proud people and what he did that night was, to Irish people, like someone taking a shït on the Irish flag. Although that wouldn’t mean anything to the rugby lads seeing as they don’t even stand for our national anthem.

    Are you fcuking serious?

Truly pathetic the fawning all over New Zealand. Deserved to have his back broken for disrespecting a dance. And that is being justified.
    Pathetic.

Don’t really get the whole thing about the Haka. What is the unanimous view amongst rugby fans of it’s purpose? Are we meant to buy into it as them putting the fear of god into the opponents and keep up the pretense that the opposition are actually trembling in their boots or what? Or is it just a spectacle to pay homage to the Māori roots and a visual unique in all of sport?

If it’s the first, booing and general disrespect should be encouraged, if it’s the second, then give it the credence it deserves.

Umaga and the other orc should have been arrested and charged with attempted murder

That other orc Michael Campbell ( kiwi golfer) attacked BOD a few days after the assault, during interview at a golf tournament, the assh0le brought it up

It is part of their culture. The Haka is not just a rugby thing, they do it at school, weddings, funerals etc.

It's tradition and was for a long time a strong anti racist statement.
But as I say in competitive matches it should be done before the anthems.

I'd like to see the Saffas come up with something; a version of the Toyi Toyi maybe. Be cool to see the likes of Shalk Brits or Etzenbeth doing it.

And of course it would be after the Haka because so much more important.

I don't have much time for them but arresting and charging them for attempted murder is OTT.

I know they do, it’s quality actually, love the haka and think it should be respected but rugby fans act as if it actually gives the all blacks an advantage.

Only about Rugby. Other than that they are a bit dull but good humoured, hard working, trustworthy and decent.

Yes I agree, cheating psychopaths who don't even need to cheat. I would like any team to win over those scumbags.

I really cant understand the fawning on here towards them because some people in Ireland went to private school.

Irish dancing and Morris dancing are parts of others cultures, but we don't insist on doing it before games.

It's a marketing thing again for WR and that is why it is allowed and it does not have any rights to be 'respected'. If somebody wants to turn away from it or sing over it, so be it.

Exactly, the amount of reverence and bull**** that goes along with it would give you a pain in your hole.

Hopefully will put an end to all the execrable bandwagon hopping rugby theme ads.
Ha ha, if only - they seem to brainlessly keep broadcasting the ads after the worst defeats! :p

8th... again... out of 10... Morto for all the guys!

What was actually funny was everyone who thought Ireland would "bring one big performance" when they have sh1t the bed all year.

    There goes Rory Best's knighthood.

The Queen is fair minded. She won't take away Rory's gong just because Ireland lost.

In a way by demanding it be respected, it just ruins the facade. By fans booing it, by opposition disrespecting it, gives it more of an edge. Yeah I know what happened to BOD, but these guys are professional athletes, at end of the day, what the **** are NZ really gonna do if someone doesn’t take it ‘respectfully’ Destroy the opposition even more?

Wouldn't mind seeing the Irish lads doing a bit of an Irish dance before the game starts. The Ulster lads could march up and down the pitch a few times.

They have been performing the Haka before games since their first international, long before anthems were sung at games. The Welsh introduced the singing of anthems at games to counter the Haka. It is not some marketing fad, to be fair.

It is a marketing thing now. WR try to protect it and I think have issued directives about how it should be faced.

The 'haka' is a challenge and you should be allowed to counter that challenge as you wish as a 'competing side' and as a spectator.

And some Maori people believe that rugby has bastardised the Haka and that it is inappropriate to do it.
