That was a disgraceful decision by Barnes.
    He gave a card.

So you are all calling that a red card. I'm not so sure and the beast isn't a player with a bad history of that sort of stuff either.

Japan very effectively blocking the SA runners chasing the high balls.

Barnes is a coward, plain and simple.

That yellow card was smoking he pulled it out so fast to avoid a debate and having to make a proper decision.

    Disgrace.

Surely a coward would just let the TMO make the recommendation and just go with it?

He obviously felt he was right there and was sure what he saw , rightly or wrongly he was decisive.

It's only a matter of time until SA get it right.

He picked him up and drove him past the horizontal, where the players head made the first contact with the ground.

That's nothing but a red under the framework, past history and whether he meant to do it has no play in it.

History was irrelevant. Player was tipped beyond the horizontal and not guarded back to ground. Red buh-bye.

Where was the TMO ..... should have been in Barnes ear asking him to look again at that.
Only on possible foul play. Ref's call in the end.

Did the Japanese player put the ball down and pick it back up there a couple of phases ago?

Pass out to the left wing was forward.

The amount of offsides from Japan in that attack was ludicrous and none of them called.

Landed on shoulder first for me anyway. It was marginal. But Yellow was probably right call.

Japan are utterly brilliant to watch

Forward pass seems to be the norm in close for Japan!

    I'm exhausted watching this.

Some thunderous tackles going in from SA. Have to say the movement and passing skill being demonstrated by the Japanese under that pressure is something else.

Japanese player quite clearly tackled in the air, Barnes 3 meters away, clear view and nothing, he drives me batshît crazy watching him referee.
