    Thanks, maybe they only bill once a month.

    I’d love to even get the stats of the charge, time / consumption etc but nothing is coming up on either app.

    Maingau You will get an email a few weeks after charging, with full details of the charge and the cost

    It's early days. Even Norway, very far ahead of any other country, is still at the early adopter stage. Most of the world, Ireland firmly included, are still at the innovator stage

    Elderly persons tend not to switch to new technology until late majority or laggard stage, which is more than 10 years away. There is time :)

    Once they bring in a card that works on all chargers, it will get a lot easier.

    Did i read its touted for early next year - it can't come soon enough!!

    Yeah they've plans to roll the card out to vending machines and physical stores too. I think its called Visa/Mastercard.

    Some of the advanced providers allow you to load into your phone and use it that way.

    Which probably means used and guaranteed.

    Anyone tried Charge my EV app by Bosch for ionity? I use it to start/stop eCars chargers, they then send invoice with 0 value via email.

    It gives me the option to try start the charger(with an obligation to pay), in theory it should work.

    It's the flat fee, says so in the app. It actually says €8.22 so I assume they're adding on a bit for themselves too.

    Ground works seem to be starting at kill northbound. Digger, site office and precast cable chambers on site. Looks like a tight spot at the exit to service station.

    I haven't spotted anything at kill south yet but again it's a tight site.

    Hoping to get one in the new MSA at kilcullen which is opening at the end of the month. Gorey and Athlone circle k MSAs got them but proximity to kill go gainst it.

    I used Ionity in Moate Circle K earlier in the week. Only got 160 amps in Hyundai Kona is that the max? Not another EV in sight for the 40 mins I was there.

    Ionity chargers are 500A max, so what you saw was a limitation of your car.

    Approx 60kW then? That's pretty poor speed, must have been cold?
    The kona/eniro/soul dont do well in cold conditions for charging

    That's normal speed for those cars.

    Following Bjorn's video of them charging on the 1000km challenge they should charge at 75-78kW to 57% SOC, then drop to 57kW until 73% SOC where they drop to mid 30's and then 22kW pretty quickly after that.


    Average speed depends on what SOC was at the start and end I suppose.
    Still pretty crap for something labelled as 100kW capable.

    Interesting to see just 55kW average on the Kona.

    Would I be right in assuming the Ioniq can pull 70kW under the right conditions?

    It's arguably misleading, but since most people don't even understand percentages I have some sympathy for them trying to explain it.

    Quick google shows the 64kWh pack is 356V nominal according to the manual (so would be a 96S3P pack of 3.7V pouches) and that it can do 180A maximum

    So 356 * 180 = 64kW

    You were doing 356 * 160 = 57kW

    Agree with ELM327, that's not great for a 2019 car with such a large battery. 1C max :rolleyes:

    2016 Ioniq 28kWh charges at similar speeds on Ionity, so charges at nearly 3C max

    Ioniq starts at 62kW and rises to a peak 70-71kW at ~74% SOC

    I never said charging at 100kW, but they were initially advertised as 100kW capable (same as Ioniq was). Misleading.

    Ah, I found some evidence of that. For Ioniq they still say:

    "With IONIQ Electric, you can visit DC fast charging stations that charges your IONIQ up to 80% in as little as 23 minutes with up to 100kW charging"

    Found by Google search for

    "up to 100kW charging" site:hyundai.com

    The blue line - not so sure. Any time I fast charge on a 50kW CCS charger, I get about 50kW straight away, no matter how empty I am. Indeed all the way up to about the point in the graph (a bit under 80%) where it starts throttling

    Not so sure where they are getting the 42-49kW range from...
