immersion not heating water after changing wall switch

hi all, the switch on the wall that you press to turn on the immersion stopped working. we replaced with a new one and wired it up but the water isnt heating up. the red light on the switch on wall is lighting so power is going to it. anyone any ideas why its not heating the water? thanks

Have you checked for power at the immersion heater using a multi-meter?
