Is Ed Sheeran our punishment for giving Bono stick?

No problems with the man himself, or even his music... the first handful of times.

Please make it stop. It makes me dread going out in public. I saw a florist the other day that literally had an 'Ed Sheeran Free Zone' sign in the window.

I'm sorry I called you a pretentious wanker Bono; well you are, but I would kill for some Discotheque right now. Or Beautiful Day. Or Sweetest Thing.

Ed Sheeran's cover of 'Galway Girl' is an abomination. Like Ronan Keating pissing all over 'Fairytale of New York'.

Can’t say I’ve noticed his “music” playing too often when I’m out and about. Solo male “acts” all seem to sound like James Arthur anyway.

Maybe I’m just getting too old.

I’ll see your Ed Sheeran and raise you a George Ezra Shotgun.

While they’re both odes to “comin’ over here, takin’our wimmin” with the same title, Ed’s Galway Girl is not in any way a cover of the other proper song.

And Ronan would refer to it as raining all over the song, so as not to offend anyone.

It's not a cover. He wrote a song about Grafton Street and called it Galway Girl.
    What a dickhead Ed is.

Next he will write a song about drinking with his mates in London and call it "The Boys Of The Old Brigade"

He is very English - appropriating Irish culture and getting it all wrong.

Yeah it’s not a cover. Can you not tell the difference between two different songs?

I was almost five before the Berlin Wall was torn down, you're going to have to explain this to me.

What's the story with this because I was surprised to hear he lives in London. Pretending to be Oirish for the yanks?

Galway Girl, either version, is a f*cking horrendous song.

He’s got Irish family, grandparents or something. I don’t think he claims to be “Irish”.

I find everything about him dull and bland, I've no idea how he's so popular. He should be a cruise ship entertainer.

You don't talk out of your arse either. And politicians are scrupulously honest.

    Its not a cover.

From the few times I have heard him he seems like a decent songwriter.

Same here. Although I think it's more a case of just being able to automatically tune it out the same way you tune out background noise.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Other posters had the maturity to civilly correct me, you opted for the gutter snipe. You're the architect of your own downfall.

You on the beer horse? You're barely coherent. Banging on about politicians. Embarrassing stuff.

From a poster determined to absolve Maria Bailey at every opportunity & declare the story "long forgotten", take a long look in the mirror.
