Watching rte in uk

Apologies if this is in the wrong thread but not sure where to put it. Happy for mods to move it.
I am in the UK and am trying to get rte player on some sort of device other than a laptop. Does anyone know of any apps on a smart TV or Amazon fire stick that will let me watch it - via VPN or otherwise.

And those same people who say they never watch it will be talking non stop about some aspects of today's all Ireland!

For the OP, simply add the rte player app to a smart TV.

Some geographic restricted programs cannot be viewed outside Ireland.

Not the news you're after, but everything I know of has been blocked by RTE. Vyper and Nord were about the best, but no longer work.

If you have an Irish mobile with roaming data, you could set it up as a hotspot and connect your laptop that way.

It doesn't matter if you have an irish licence, it is of no value outside of the country.

Now I feel the complete opposite. I have a TV licence, live in Ireland and never ever watch RTE. I genuinely haven't an issue with Irish living abroad watching RTE player. I know people living in the States 30 years that would love to see a bit of Ireland

Edit: I'd rather an expat what RTE player than a TV sponge living here in Ireland

I have a license but under protest.

Would happily do without any of RTE's services (the player is awful and I don't have the external aerial needed in this area to receive Saorview) if it meant not having to pay for it.

Funny enough the BBC appear to have managed to provide access to their services when licence holders are outside of their home country, but nothing from RTE. RTE are however world leaders when it comes to blocking VPNs.

I watches Dragons Den on Iplayer about Two weeks ago. I can't remember if I used a VPN though

You had to unless you are using a UK ISP. The iPlayer is blocked unless you use one.
