Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Say you live in a commuter town that has both bus and rail services to a city.

    Can you buy two annual tickets, and claim relief?

    Annual BE zonal ticket?

    Annual IE point-to-point ticket?

    99% certain that the relief is on one ticket only at any given time. It may be cheaper to get the Irish Rail/Bus Eireann all services Annual pass than two separate point to point passes.

    1 ticket per person per year

    As above there is a combined all services Irish Rail and Bus Eireann ticket €5540.00, but it will only make sense if you live a considerable distance from Dublin.

    It's stupid that the Medium, Long , Giant hop IE/BE/DB tickets were never properly marketed. Were monthly only for years, then went weekly only then died a death. There must be many commuters who would benefit from a reasonably priced multi-modal ticket.

    There should be the option to buy a city bus add-on for a point-to-point. There is an established price point for Dublin as the difference between Dublin area Rail only and Rail with Dublin Bus is 350 euro. So, just charge 350 euro extra to add Dublin bus to a point-to-point. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

    It's for Oranmore to Galway city.

    Oranmore is at the end of the 404 city bus service, so is included in the BE Red zone.

    Annual taxsaver = 780 euro

    The IE fare for Galway to Athenry is 1780 euro.

    Where is the legislation stating this?
    the revenue guidance document

    explicitly states an employee can get more than 1 ticket per year
    Note: an employee may enter into a "salary sacrifice" arrangement more than once
    in a year with the agreement of the employer.
