Shed Base and Hedgehog family

So my new 12 by 8 foot shed is ready for delivery and they want to put it up during the week. I demolished my old one to find a large shallow hole in the centre with a nest containing a hedgehog with babies. The entire garden is uneven and I had been thinking of a self leveling concrete base would be easiest to do but…

So my new 12 by 8 foot shed is ready for delivery and they want to put it up during the week. I demolished my old one to find a large shallow hole in the centre with a nest containing a hedgehog with babies.

The entire garden is uneven and I had been thinking of a self leveling concrete base would be easiest to do but obviously that would disturb the hedgehogs and I doubt the babies would survive.

Now Im thinking to have it raised on blocks but can anyone tell me how high above the hedgehog family itd need to be? Any tips for getting the blocks level would be appreciated too.

You already know the answer to that - your previous shed height. They know what works for them!

But now the nest is exposed you might have to take action and prepare a new home well away from the shed site and in shade plonking a new shed on top isn't going to work given the levels of disturbance, the nature forum might be a good place to ask.

Think a shed should have at least four inches of clearance but the old shed had very very little which is probably how it rotted. I look forward to looking through the links when back on computer. Thanks for reply.
