Transferring ownership of TV licence?

    Does anyone know how to change the name on a TV licence for an address? I'm currently renting and am paying the TV licence for the household which we split between us, but planning on moving to a new address where I no longer require a TV licence. I need to transfer it across to one of the other renters here.

    "The Change Personal Details online service allows you to change your address, add a mailing address or change your contact details during the lifetime of your Television Licence. Name changes are only allowed at Renewal."

    Take the license that is in your own name with you and destroy it and tell those staying in the house they need to get a new license in their own name/s. It will no longer be your concern as you won't be living in that house.

    Licence applies to the address unless you request a change.

    No need to do anything.

    At renewal someone else gets licence for the address.

    It's like motor tax, it stays with the car/house. Next person to renew will do so in their own name.
