    Scumbags everywhere

This could be a fun challenge.

    Quidditch
    Or,
    Bicycle Polo

I wouldn't count them as real sports either, but neither is UFC so we are where we are!

Thing in that video is that he seems to wait for the guy to turn away from him, and then punch him. It wasnt a case of he went up to him and punch him. He waited until he wasnt prepared. Total scumbag thing to do.

But in fairness, the marble arch is well known for some of its clientele! (I have drank in there a few times!)

I just need to correct you there:

MMA is the sport, UFC is the organisation. So what you should really be saying is "neither is MMA [a real sport]"

I'd drink the barman's piss before I'd touch it again. Rotten altogether.

He'll fall eventually and it'll be a hard landing.

A landing in Mountjoy, or possibly Arbour Hill if that case ever comes to anything.

Sad thing is there'll be a gang of youngsters in the 15-25 age bracket who think McGregor is king and will still lap this up. Next they'll be hitting old men in bars as a way of aping him.

The guy is just the worst example to youngsters, a joke, a coward and an embarrassment.

At this stage, I'd nearly take Michael Flatley back as the face of Ireland, or Shane McGowan.

I was working in a school in an area with a pretty bad name last year. In one of the classrooms, there was a poster made by some of the kids with something like “idols” or “hero’s” on it and a picture of him sending a knee into the head of another fighter and blood all over the 2 of them.

Really struck me that teachers and the principal thought it was ok to have it up on the wall of a classroom.

    Jesus that's mad.

You'd hope their idol would be a doctor, scientist or a nobel prize winner, not a thug who knees people in the face for a living.

Would've been Mc Guigan or Collins or Carruth in years gone by punching the head off someone and they're revered. Roundabouts and all named after them!

Katie Taylor nowadays except she's digging the head off girls.

Granted they're not thugs but if violence is the problem then we need to re-evaluate a few things because we've celebrated boxers in this country for decades and the damge done in that sport is far worse than what's done in MMA if anyone cares to research it.

Is anyone's idol a doctor when they're a kid? Was most likely a soccer player or one of those evil GAA stars, c'mon!

I'm sure it's cheaply made for a quick profit while he's still in the public eye.

supposedly DPP has put it fwd for trial in the courts which may be not that far off.

McGregor has apparently engaged the same solicitors that managed to get Seanie Fitzpatrick off.

It's an awful incident for megregor to land himself in but I promise all this.... I and many many more would pull the usual all nighter to watch him fight again if he ever does.

The man has zero respect for anyone not even himself.

True, but by 14 I'd imagine his moral compass had been well set.
No but what people are saying is that his mythical humble beginnings story is over done and slightly disingenuous.

Mod note: Folks, with a court case now in the offing, take extreme care about what you're posting here and whether its contents may prejudice a potential court case if you wish this thread to remain open for much longer.

Looks like McGregor was determined to give him a cheap shot after the old chap refused 2 already.

    Scumbag.

Mod note: Nah, too risky folks, I'm shutting this down.

Thanks to all for your contributions here but maybe after the court case concludes...
