Hi my question is... if I've had a credit card posted out to me but never activated it via ATM as per instructions that came with (because I've just been using my debit card whole time instead), will there still be an automated €30 stamp duty fee taken from my current account for a card I never used?

    Hi Tedious Bore,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

The €30 stamp duty fee will still come out of your account. The government stamp duty is for the credit card account not the card itself. It will be charged regardless of whether or not the card is used.

If we can help you with anything else please let us know.

    Thanks,

    Lorna
