Is it just me or does Madonna (especially in that photo) look the absolute image of this thread's favourite equine celeb?

i,m not sure what katie price look,s like now, she seems to have plastic surgery every few years .Since kim kardashion became famous ,there seems
to be a trend for more famous women who are not thin.
    ,so thats a good thing.
There was a time when every actress had to be very thin with a small bust. They all looked like teen models who were on a diet.

I can guarantee you no right thinking man would turn down SJP.

Turn her down, no. Look at her during, also no.

Tom Selleck used to be considered an extremely hot older man. Couldn't for the life of me understand why. Now obviously it would be beyond idiotic of me to say he's a dog though - I just don't fancy him.

It would be idiotic to say that, Tom Selleck is a god damn adonis! He is what all us males should aspire to be.

Did a "search this thread" and can't believe that nobody has put Madonna.

And I don't just mean now when she's 60. I mean EVER. Couldn't see what the big deal was.

Complete dog. And with a personality to match.

    Just me?

She was pretty fine in Body Of Evidence (1993)
Of course she stripped off so much in that movie and she did have a good body :pac: Otherwise, yeah. I never really saw the appeal.

Maura from Love Island....dont get it at all. When LI started she was heralded as the great Irish beauty but I see better looking Irish women every day.

For all of the folks getting uppity about Sarah Jessica Parker being compared to a horse, she was the first one to make the reference back in 1994

All the thin, small breasted women staring in movies today

    They do nothing for me

I think Keira Kneightly is the perfect example, has such a pretty face and then has such a flat stick thin body.

Meghan Markle is the same for me but I don't even find her face as attractive.

Im very pass remarkable as my mother used to say in a disdainful way

....frankly my dearest you really do look like a horse.. even in black and white but by gar a few nobodies on boards.ie are fighting your corner so it's neeiighhh worry to ya

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,817 ✭✭✭Raconteuse

But obviously she doesn't in the slightest. It's just that people heard someone say it in 2002 - thought it was brilliant and can't think of anything else since.

It's not specifically her corner we are "fighting" - just objecting to the way some people refer to another's looks even though they have no control over them. And often it comes from a place of "I don't find them really beautiful - well I'll show them for getting rich and famous when I don't personally fancy them, how dare they!" or "I personally don't fancy them" = they're dog ugly when they're obviously not. Such a toxic culture.

Looks so bitchy and I'd bet plenty who say such things would be all "oh bullying is terrible, I did Darkness Into Light" etc. How would they feel if they read reams and reams of comments slating their looks - and not even based on truth. How would they feel if it was a loved one reading these things. Don't get how being a celebrity makes it ok. Does that make them no longer a person or something? And SJP keeps quiet - she's not an insufferable celeb.

This thread is basically, 'celebs you find ugly' though, R, what kind of comments do you expect to see?

If I really wanted to throw out toxic insults I could (why would you want to I suppose) but as its only a bit of fun I'll say things like...

Is she still with Matthew Broderick? Or, "the horse whisperer", as I like to call him.

I don’t think Raconteuses post was aimed at you Deebles, they’re just making a general point about the level of vitriol from some posters directed at some celebs. It’s almost as though they’re just coming up with random celebs and go OTT with the insults, not even trying to be funny. It’s a bit shìte really and ruining the flow of an otherwise good natured thread.

(I do wonder though are we ever gonna move past the SJP thing or has the horse bolted... sorry :o)

Well it's "who can you not understand the hype over" more specifically. So "[name celeb] - can't get what the excitement is over them" is what I expected. Also posts about people who aren't remotely hyped, or barely heard of - but you always get the point being missed. And mentions of people who aren't just not hyped but absolutely slated (e.g. SJP). Yeah you're just joking but some are completely nasty. To make themselves feel good I guess.

Maybe I'm just reading even the worst ones as jokes, its a possibility. I have quite a dark sense of humour so the morality bar is fairly low on what makes me laugh.

SJP is supposed to be very well liked and down to earth in her holiday home area in Donegal and she really had superstar status at the time around Sex and the City.

There are a lot of other women who carry the equine moniker in Ireland such as Glenda Gilson and the one that was with Michael flatly and then on to Gerard Keane(the soliciter) and Caroline Flack (love island etc) in Britain.

More to do with the long face which was considered to be a thing of beauty in days gone by.

Never considered her but now that you mention it, I can see it a bit. Still though, something about her... I'd feed her carrots and sugarlumps any day. Might need to be about 15 years younger though if her history is anything to go by.

Keira Knightley is butchered, not as butchered as Cameron Diaz but butchered all the same,

I understand your point about the SJP joke wearing thin at this stage but others have taken far more slack on this thread ie Adam Levine. He took some slagging on this thread. Far worse than what was said about Sarah.

Tom hardy too...one poster said he looks like he has down syndrome but not an eyelid was batted!
I'm reading all comments as jokes and therefore it makes no logical sense to get offended. They're just joking around. It's not actually nasty. If someone was angrily bitterly saying SJP looks like a ****in horse .. I wish she'd **** off die then I'd get the offence but it's far from it.
The folks complaining are the types who'd laugh at a comedy gig provided it didn't directly affect them but once it did they'd up and leave outraged.
    Lads...get over it!

Yep,rather be called horse face than a sniffy fingered bum sex fiend and besides those 150k jiffy bags leaving the Oscars and every other person saying they love me would take the pain out of some randomer on the internet calling me horse face.

That Levine guy - thought people just said he is really unremarkable looking for someone who is so lusted after.

What are you on about? And you don't come across as jokey. Especially when you said "do you look like a horse" to someone.

Look, you clearly aren't the brightest crayon in the box. You don't understand my simple post, you don't understand the thread and you clearly don't understand humour. Just go have a little lay down and a nice mug of warm milk.
