How do I know what? There is full allocation gone to the boards now as of Thursday last week mast tickets arrived in clubs today. The tickets being issued by CB now and GAA are 4500 tickets then it's a complete sell out. If you can buy a ticket officially match day tour doing well.

They are already on sale online - Terrace tickets.

I dont think that they are that much in demand. For last years football final , there was loads of tickets on the day. Same for hurling final in 2016.

Granted 2017, 2018 hurling finals were complete sell outs and no tickets available on the day.

The way the tickets are distributed to the clubs and each club only getting a certain amount can artificially create a shortage . I see some clubs ( from non participating counties are only having their draws on Wednesday or Thursday night) .

Guarantee , by the weekend , there will be tickets floating and tickets in Dublin on the street before the match.

Even the GAA themselves expect it- thats why the terrace tickets are on sale already and its only Tuesday. This can only mean Tipp or KK didnt take their full allocation of terrace tickets. ( so the counties themselves know it)

Wouldnt be surprised by the weekend if some stand tickets went up online.

And the football could be the same, judging from the poor Kerry crowd that went to match on Sunday.

Whilst true I don't agree Kerry fans won't turn up for the final, certainly not to see Kerry face Dublin and stop the 5 in a row.

Similar for Dubs fans, I think the demand will be a lot higher than prev years cause of 5, maybe even more than 2011.

    Two finals, Minor and Senior.
    Great atmosphere and colour.
    State of the art facilities.
    Half-time entertainment.
    Only happens once a year.

    Terrific value.
Thanks for that John Horan. :D

I agree it will sell out easily but think it will be all Dublin.

Given how many showed up on Sunday for a game Kerry were favourites to win.....and given how many of those who showed up were on €5 tickets.....

People who paid a fiver to bring their kid last week, will think twice about paying 90 for the same kid next week.

So a Dub Mayo semi will sell out and there are posters here who think a Dub Kerry final won't!

    Crazy

When I say a sell out. I mean very hard to get a ticket and no tickets available on the street in Dublin before the match. Thats the way it was the hurling in 2017 and 2018 - very difficult to get a ticket and none for sale on the street in Croke park

Mayo vs Dublin all irelands the same way - none for sale on the street in Dublin.
Last weeks Semi final GAA maintain that it was a sell out - maybe from tickets sold but some empty seats and loads of tickets for sale in Dublin- lots of supporters bought twice apparently in the fuss.

In 2015 Kerry vs Dublin - I got offered tickets on the street - one for cusack and one for hogan.

A sell out for me is an All ireland where its very difficult to pick up a ticket as was the case with last two all ireland hurlings and also any mayo dublin game.

When Dublin are going for the 6, 7, 8 etc in a row I can see tickets going on general sale before the finals. If no team can close the gap or if Dublin pull further ahead they'll really struggle.

Oddly enough quite a few years ago i was chatting to a few Dubs in a bar after the final.
Some of them were at it but a few said they deliberately went to the semi on the basis that impossible get tickets for final and they wanted to be involved so they went to semi and to the pub around Croke for atmosphere on final day, i thought it not a bad idea, they also said they have their day out and tickets considerably cheaper for semi.

That's a few years ago and i think football more popular than now.
I do not think Kerry be too far behind Dublin on the day.
I just seen the other post and if the gaa do not do something drastic to even the game up it will fade away quietly

The Dublin support is amazing given that semi-finals are still selling out, when you compare to 1981 and 1982 when Kerry were going for five-in-a-row, and we had the worst attendances in 70 years.

If that semi final was in a big stadium in kerry the attendance would have been far better. Not all Dublin semi finals sell out. Last year only 55k. This year the hype between Dublin and Mayo sold it out. That won't happen again after this year's hammering.

The comparison is irrelevant as has been pointed out here a few times. Attendances were much lower in general (hurling semi final double headers were played in front of ten thousand) and it took twice as long to get to Dublin in the midst of a mass recession.

Even 1977 when Dublin and Kerry met in a de facto final in the semi final only got fifty thousand.

Finally last years semi final against Galway was far from a sell out. A dominant team certainly lessens interest but comparing people having to travel six hours in the midst of a recession to Dublin fans having little travel time in relatively good economic times doesn’t make much sense.

They will. Kk and tipp fans and dub and ky fans will get the shyte tickets because they will all go anyway, the good seats will be sold to those who just want to experience an AI final.

There looked to be equally as much support from Mayo at that semi so you're being very disingenuous. Besides games against Mayo and All Ireland finals when was the last time Dublin sold out a game?

The point I am making is that when Kilkenny and Kerry were going for four and five in a row, attendances plummeted as neutrals lost interest.

Compared to that, attendances at Dublin matches have held up remarkably well.

Edit: Anyway, we are going off topic. I expect a full house on 1 September.

But they haven't. If you take Mayo out of the equation attendances have fallen dramatically.

Semi in 2017 against Tyrone was a sell out I think, as waws the one against Kerry in 2016. Dublin and Mayo sold out Croke park twice in the 2015 semis. I'm pretty sure Dublin weren't involved in a semi-final in 2014 because I have absolutely no recollection of it ;)

It appears as though the Galway semi last year was anomalous, and it's probably because Galway would have already had two road games in the S8s and hurlers bound for a final. It's a bit early to be claiming the Leinsterifaction of the All Ireland Series just yet.
