The thing, did I mention the setting.

Seriously, if you havent seen it before, watch it, and the reboot.

Oh, and I love big trouble in little china.

Sorry the 2011 movie is a prequel, what was I thinking.

    The ring.

Her nail peels off. Seriously. She creeps out of a TV. She terrified me for AGES.

    Please be the ring.

Ring as jaws is not... Wrll ye know the rest

Jaws scared me as a kid and the ring scared me as an adult.
I'm sitting here home alone, off the drink because I stupidly agreed I'd run a marathon with the girlfriend in October, she's on holidays. I'd happily watch Jaws and not bat an eyelid, it's a great film but it won't scare me any more. I'm not going to be eaten by a shark now am I?
But no fkin way would I watch the ring.
For that reason, the ring gets my vote. Its a horror film that has scared me and stuck with me, one of the very few.

I used to fall asleep watching movies and I watched the ring LOADS. I still get flashbacks to that bit in the credits where the nail PEELS off.

I love movies that scare me.

I know I cant vote again, but i love that movie.

Jaws wins. Ring is creepy but can't go swimming to do this day without wondering if sharks might be nearby. Haven't watched vhs in years.

For what it's worth, 3 movies I wouldn't watch before bedtime are the ring, the exorcist and It Follows. They really got to me.

Jesus CC i used to do that too but i never tried it with horror movies thats the stuff of nightmares, :)

Tough battle again, Jaws winning 5-3 atm.

Still outstanding is Dawn of the Dead and The Thing, deadlocked at 3-3 currently.

Jaws because it put me off swimming in the sea for far too long than I'd like to admit

See - so we shouldn't vote jaws because it negatively impacted on worldwide perception of sharks, increased irrational fear of them and human overreaction to their presence. Jaws killed sharks (I've actually heard that's true, but I've also been drinking).

And PJ sounds the death knell for The Ring.

Jaws is the 6-3 victor after a tight battle with The Ring. Sayonara Samara.

    The Ring for me.

Jaws is a classic but I'm going with what I feel is more of a horror.

The first time I watched The Ring, I couldn't sleep that night because I had a tv in my bedroom. I had to put a blanket over it. Not sure what a blanket was going to do but it made me feel better about it.

Treue it did and Peter Benchley apologised in later years for that

    Ok for the benefit of moving the game along my decision on Dawn of the Dead VS The Thing is as follows;

I need to rewatch The Thing, because I just don't remember it in the same light as some here. I remember being bored with it.

On the other hand I actually prefer the modern remake of Dawn over the original (sacrilege, I know!) so I'm in a tough bind.

Zombies and zombie movies are my jam though, so for that reason I will vote for Dawn of the Dead. Just.
