Theres a flag on the wall that has an eagle over what appears to be a swastika.

Maybe. Its just generally a weird thing to have on your wall though.

Like I know people really interested in German war memorabilia but they are aware of the connotations.

Considering he campaigns for Palestine one would have thought he was have more cop on.

I mean letting cameras in with that on the wall?

It would have been slightly clearer if you used his actual initials. LF. What the **** is it with this country and using stupid childish nicknames for politicians.

when i was in school, loads of people used to go around with swastikas drawn in tippex on their schoolbags just for shock value i suppose. i'm not actually sure of the reason but i doubt they were nazis. maybe they were? nobody really cared

He was well out of school in 1997.

Anyone tweet him the screenshot for a comment?

Its the emblem/flag of the Gestapo, Nazi Secret Police Force.

You can get in trouble for having that sort of thing outdoors in Germany. Any public Nazi displays can lead to prosecution, you would probably get away with something hanging in your bedroom.

By the looks of that mobile it looks like he is trying to score a ten-spot, I would say the photo is from around 1995 ?

I would say he regrets walking into that room now, however it is just a flag hanging in some student digs in Galway 25 years ago, hardly a PR disaster.

For the record, there is a Unicef flag on the door, I should have entered the Krypton Factor when I had the chance. At least the room has some sort of balance to it. The fact that he is a skinhead could raise eyebrows :p
