What program would you axe off RTE from an After Hours prospective?

Everything bar actual public service broadcasting, which would leave the news, prime time and quite a small amount of documentaries.

I would say scrap RTE. But to pick a particular program, Reeling in the Years.

Having it on constant repeat is annoying enough. But shoving nostalgia down people's throats year after year can't be healthy for society.

Get rid of it and allow Irish people to fully appreciate the times they currently live in.

It's only annoying if you keep watching it.

Poor Vogue and poor Kathryn Thomas, totally undeserved beatings, their only crime is aspiration and having the guts to get on with it.

A lot of posters don't seem to understand the business model either. A travel show is really cheap to make. They are independently made and then sold to RTE. It is RTE's job to then broadcast the program as to the advertisers' requirement and demands. Simples. KT and VW are easy fixes for travel show producers as is Angela Scanlon and/or any Rugby/GAA hunk etc, it is all about demographic and advertising, RTE have no real say over the production apart from buying the end product.

I wouldn't axe the Late Late but it needs to start growing a pair and becoming relevant again. Until it starts keeping people out of the pub on a Friday night it will never be a success. It is too confined, contrived, soulless and lacks dynamism. The Graham Norton show might be the competition but it needs to think bigger, what is stopping people in New York, LA or Melbourne watching it? It needs to balance lighthearted entertainment with real Irish issues, not politics, Irish issues and matters. Things that people relate to and will phone in, tweet about etc, it is doable.

Whoever bashed Nationwide will forever be a satanic heathen in my eyes. It is the best show on Television, by a country mile. After Love island of course:P

Isn't Derval O'Rourke on it? I think she's a fairly good role mode for girls compared to the likes of Vogue Williams and what not.
True, and same for Anna Geary.

Claire Byrne Live. Terrible presenter. They should get rid of her and give Vincent Browne a weekly current affairs programme where he just sits there sighing and grunting for an hour.

    ?width=512&version=996426

    I'd definitely ride her though

Anything Lotto related. People spend thousands per year on it and I've seen them treat it like a religion. "Some day... This week I'll win and I'll give you a house, and the fella next door a house, and yer man down the road..." I'm sick of hearing it, and I'm sick of people actually watching the likes of Winning Streak as entertainment. Every. Single. Week. Telly Bingo as well. Telly Bingo used to be interesting at least, I loved the outfits, but it's still just gambling on TV. Scrap it all.
