It's been 24 hours since February and even shows Reeling in the Years now

It is annoying RTE2+1 is time limited but that's the Ministerial permission they got
Also not being able to sell Ads on the news channel

Also Virgin and TG4 being able to transmit in low resolution to save money even though there are no power savings at the transmitters.

Top Tip : you can watch most of the content of Virgin Media 1,2,3 free and in HD on Freesat.

Still it's nowhere near the hatchet job that the Tories inflicted on the BBC.

    RTE itself

Any travel show that spends hundreds of thousands to send Vogue Williams and Tommy Bowe first class Trans-Atlantic.

or a show hosted by Vogue/influencer "star"

But RTE only needs one chat show, no need for D'Arcy, Cutting Edge etc and just use the LLS and have Tommy Tiernan host it in the style/format he does his chat show

Tommy Tiernan's show is one of the few good things about RTE. He actually listens to what his guests say which is unique it seems in RTE.

Yeh that is really taking the Mick. Vogue is one of the luvvies and will pick and choose her shows until she morphs into Twink.

Get off your high horse. Its only a minute. Not too much out of your life and a high percentage of people appreciate it.

Either represent all religions or none.

    Preferably none.

But they don't appreciate it enough to get out of bed on a Sunday morning and get into a church to do their praying.
Theres plenty still going to the churches despite gob****es posting that its less tha 1%

    really:confused:

in all honesty how many people out there would actually pray in front of their TV sets?? ....i reckon in these modern times a dwindling few, less than one percent (if any)
Have you actually stood outside a church and see this 1% or is it make believe?

I do not go through church and don't pray, but I think it should remain as an acknowledgement of our Christian heritage.
Yes the Catholic Church are *****, but it hasn't been all bad throughout history. We did maintain an advanced culture while Europe went into the dark ages thanks to Christian institutions.

What's so terrible about Kathryn Thomas?

But anyway, the Late Late, Angelus and Rose of Tralee. Had their day.

Winning Streak and the country music specials are enough to keep the oldies and country folk happy.

When she started off on No Frontiers she was fine and liked.(I know some will say she's wasn't).

I think he biggest problem is she has a problem at yelling/shouting whilst presenting programs.

So... nothing then, just a bandwagon.

    I've given the reason.
    Over familiarity.

    Dancing with the stars
    The Voice

and any other programme which has been copied from some other country as in 99% of cases, our version is plain rubbish and cringeworthy except Gogglebox Ireland as its actually quite good.

Ah now that's a bit silly. Why would it be a case of only like or dislike? I don't think anything of her, because she is so utterly inoffensive. There is literally zero reason for all the scathing stuff said about her here, but gotta jump on that bandwagon. Think for yourselves folks!

Not in my experience - just the over 70s, the families of kids in their communion year, and a few Africans, Filipinos and Poles.

Claire Byrne Live. Terrible presenter. They should get rid of her and give Vincent Browne a weekly current affairs programme where he just sits there sighing and grunting for an hour.

I like to watch Claire Byrne with sound turned down. I think she’s a fücking Ride!

Rte products horrible TV. Scrap the lot.

Attendances are in a tailspin. Their most devoted attendees are dying off. Churches are closing, the supply of new clergy has just about dried up.

i think a better question would whether there is any worth keeping

    I would keep the repeats.

I would say scrap RTE. But to pick a particular program, Reeling in the Years.

Having it on constant repeat is annoying enough. But shoving nostalgia down people's throats year after year can't be healthy for society.

Get rid of it and allow Irish people to fully appreciate the times they currently live in.

I'd replace Ireland's fittest family with a ball sport-based competition featuring lonely bachelors. Bibi baskin would make a comeback to host. Each week the bachelors play a game of football, soccer, basketball or other ball sport and the winner is the one who scores the most. Larry gogan would do the voiceover. The winner would be shown buried waist deep in a pool of balls. I'd put it on after the watershed and call it "up to the balls with bibi baskin ".

Who are the role models for girls?

    Donnacha?

That granny who could bate anyone out the door at hang tough?

    Kathryn?

Isn't Derval O'Rourke on it? I think she's a fairly good role mode for girls compared to the likes of Vogue Williams and what not.
