Melwood as been sold ahead of moving into Kirby next summer.
The Reds are moving away from their famous Melwood training base and announced on Thursday they had sold the site to affordable housing provider Torus.

van den Berg, Hoever, Larouci, Lewis & Duncan were all sent back to Liverpool today while the rest of the squad continue training in France so I'm guessing they won't be playing a huge part this season.

So we only have Milner to cover LB?

We'll sign a LB next week I'm sure

People keep saying this but if we were going to why would we wait till the end of pre season to do it? If the player is available we'd have got him in, if he isn't available he isn't coming next week either.

We have Milner and 3 kids if it comes to it so I'd be surprised if we sign a backup, hard to get a good enough one who would also be willing to spend most of the season on the bench.

We'll be fine, we'll crush City on Sunday. Our preseason has been war like, while they've been playing nobodies. It feels like we're ahead of them, at least right now. Hopefully an easy victory to deal an early mental blow.

Even at 25m, I'd keep him. We've seen the value in having good CDFs about when one gets injured. No point weakening the squad.

Bang on. You couldn't ask for a better 4th choice center back. Unless it's absolutely silly money we shouldn't be selling him.

Watched the first episode of This is Football a documentary series by Amazon.

The first episode has a Liverpool favour to it following Liverpool fans in Rwanda.

I'm quite relaxed about the lack of signings. We've a great first 11 and some quality back-ups.

Some of the kids coming up through the ranks look like they could have potential and there has to be some kind of pathway open for them to make the step-up to the first team squad. Buying backups for every position blocks them off.

Klopp has always tried to bring through youth - he's earned the right to be trusted on this.

Ah yeah, and himself, Mane and Firmino will definitely be grand for another 55 games next year. Don't foresee any issues there at all.

67 Games in 300 days for Liverpool if they reach Finals of FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League along with the Community Shield and Super Cup games and the 2 World Club Cup games. That is not counting any replays needed in the FA Cup and of course the 38 league games

People forget this. Gomez and Trent in particular have improved by staying at the club (i.e. no loans) and being given games. The same should happen with Hoever, Brewster, Sepp and Elliot. Or even if they move on like Ibe, Sterling or Solanke, we do very well financially by the exposure they get...

D'ont worry about the Community Shield ,FA and League Cup. Our main players w'ont be playing in them and Liverpool will exit early in them.

    And rightly so.

Stephanie Frappart is the ref for the Chelsea Super Cup game.
Will sparkle more interest in the game anyway.

I wouldn't be happy to see us exit the domestic cups with a whimper, but yeah they aren't really a priority for us and the level our squad is at, so if another early exit in both is the cost of sustaining a title challenge or going deep in the UCL again, so be it. I desperately want to win the Community Shield and Super Cup though, those are one-off games and can set the tone for the season to come.

I remember a few in here last season that were raging at anyone that wasn't dejected to be knocked out of the cups. They didn't see the bigger picture at the time, and those who did (the majority in here and presumably within the club itself) should feel vindicated because there's no way we'd have taken our title challenge to the final day and won the UCL with a deeper run into the FA Cup. We don't have the depth to compete on all fronts, especially with City being able to do so every season.

The cups were more important last few seasons as we had no trophy in 7 years.

Now with the European Cup we should just play a 2nd string. Hopefully with some luck in the draws like City always get we could still go far.

Leave the League Cup early as if they get to the QF it is going to clash with the WCC

Focus is the league, the hunger to win it a 3rd time might not be there for city. The chasing pack haven't really improved and still have holes in their first teams let alone squads.

Klopp is a football romantic, he knows the importance of it. He could sail off into the sunset then with a Shankly like legacy.

They have the squad to win all 4 competitions lets be honest. We need a fall off in their league form to have a chance tbh, we won't get 97 points again.

It's Van Dijk I'm worried about more than Salah. For a lot of games we can get away with benching one of the front three but any game where Van Dijk isn't on the pitch fills me with dread.

I wouldn't even turn up for the League Cup if we get challenged on it just say we forgot it was on.

Why are you desperate to win the Community shield, It's as mickey mouse as it gets, win or lose it won't matter a jot for the upcoming season. We likely won't be playing a full strength XI either. Mark it down in the pre season get miles in the legs category.

VVD might be the biggest fúcking bargain in the history of football.

You would want to be mental to think City aren't going to want to win all 4 comps they enter.

They aren't a sunday league side, if any one of them doesn't have the hunger to win everything in sight they'll be shown the door pronto.

£130m for AWB and Maguire makes me think Southampton should press charges against us for larceny.

No harm to see some of the mid-table clubs strengthening. If last season demonstrated anything it's that we need more teams able to nick points off City.

Just hope Ole doesn't get off top a terrible start and get sacked and then they bring in a decent manage like Poch.
