Noticed when using the Bus Eireann website when you search tickets its firing off requests to facebook URLs. Without you having logged in as a facebook user.

Checked the console i see they are using facebook connect API. for a product called signals.

What personal data are Bus Eireann sharing with facebook ? This all seems a bit suspect to say the least.

At the moment you would know more than us. Can you unencrypt the package?

Encrypt the package ? No idea.

Probably sending names and journeys , who knows . Found it concerning myself considering the level of data manipulation and monization Facebook are involved in.

This is what is being sent to Facebook.

    "SELECT url, normalized_url, share_count, like_count, comment_count, total_count,commentsbox_count, comments_fbid, click_count FROM link_stat WHERE url='http://www.buseireann.ie/inner.php?id=407'"

Seems like they used Facebook for comments once. Anyway it doesn’t work.

I think it's something similar to Google Analytics but Facebook combine it with the information they know about you already to provide aggregate information about customer profiles to website owners.
