Not so sure this tail will. The Irish bowling is very tight and all the English batsmen are having problems with it.

Stuart Broad likes to think of himself as an all-rounder every now and again and Curran has built a little bit of a reputation for it in his short Test career

    That’s the big one!

They'll get a chance to test that even sooner now!

As the lads on Sky are saying, I can't understand Ireland's slips spacing. Gary Wilson took the Root catch in front first slip

It's something that annoys me in general cricket. Slips should be in a position to take a catch on either side and when you're too close you get in each others way. You need to support the catchers ability to make a fine catch.

And what's even more annoying is that the coaching staff are listening to this on Sky from the earpieces and they have it on their TV in the dressing room. The Commentators are very experienced cricketing men, take their advice.

We haven't even started our run chase yet and I am already a mess

Wouldn't be surprised if England get over 200 here yet.

Winning this is huge. Not in the short term, but long term. This is a spotlight moment that can attract players and sponsorship. Cricket won't get the foothold that rugby/football/GAA has, but I think they covered it very well pre-game, with the right management, we can try do what New Zealand do.
Of course it'll be a momentous achievement for the players, esp at Lords.

To his credit he's actually hitting properly for now.

Irish bowlers looking tired, England 8 down but being aggressive and taking advantage of some inaccurate bowling. Ireland if they are going to do this need to finish this ASAP. As I’m typing a loose half volley on leg stump swatted away for four.

What is it with Irish sport, doing the hard work, just about getting there, giving yourself a great chance but just not putting the foot down on the opposition throats when needed.
