home office question

    hi,i am ready to move my home office.my original is at the back of the house and i am giving this over to the kids and moving to a converted shed at yhe end of my garden.

    here is my question,i have a cat 6 cable running to the back room office,i dont want to have to run a new cat 6 from the router in the porch because it would have to go through a few rooms and we only decorated recently.is it ok to use some kind of splitter/switch(someone before mentioned a gigabit switch to split the cat 6 cable and send one to the computer(for the kids in the house)and one down to the shed for me.

    second question,when the cat 6 gets to the shed can i plug it into a tp link 3000mbps wireless n access point that i have lying around?.......can this be set to wireless and can i also hard wire a computer to this as well.

    sorry for all the basic questions but i dont know much about the subject.

    just a note to say i dont need super duper speeds down in the shed just a basic connection to use the internet and watch the odd netflix movie.thanks.

    i am just looking at this TP-Link Access Point TL-WA901ND and it only has one input for connection to internet.is there something that i can install and get wired connections from it.cheers.
