RSA -Medical fitness

Anyone have any experience or know someone that was able to appeal or make an exception when it comes to medical fitness. Issue is being able to drive after treatment of a brain tumor which RSA says is 2 years following treatment. Far as i know 2 years is new and it used to be 1 year. How strict are they?

Had brain surgery twice last year, once for tumour removal & once for cleaning out an MRSA infection - they told me 6 months each time. I think the problems start if there are any kind of seizures or history of epileptic-type events. I’d be talking to the neurosurgeon & getting him/her to write a letter on your behalf.

First time I had surgery for tumour removal (after I started driving) the ban was for 6 weeks, it’s increased a few times every couple of years since.
