In British Columbia, there is at the present moment 16 “human rights” complaints, launched by a single person who asserts the status of “trans woman” against (mainly immigrant) female cosmeticians who — from religious sensibilities, reasons of safety, or simple personal preference — refused that person’s demand for a Brazilian waxing of their male genitals.

Ricky Gervais has jumped in to help..

We can't be far off one of these cases here.

It is ridiculous. I assume the beauticians only wax women. Adult female women do not have a penis and balls. What will a court case do? Force the beauticians to do something they are not comfortable with?

Unsure if I can post this, mod please feel free to remove/edit if inappropriate. This is a person who has previous form online for sexually harrassing women, racist tweets and describing fantasies of helping little 10 year old girls with their tampons and bonding with them over her "periods".

She is not someone representative of transgender people and should not be held up as such. I think it's awful that there will likely be an outpouring of ignorant comments towards transgender people in general from this. Transgender women have already come out to roundly condemn her behaviour online and rightly so.

You can find extracts from the tribunal on Youtube by searching BC human rights tribunal. It is a car crash of a case.

I read a few articles on this earlier. One of the beauticians said that she had refused as she was not trained/experienced in waxing male parts.

Dig out some of the articles and have a read. The woman at the centre of all this is quite a character (to put it mildly)

Same is going on here up North with a middle aged man demanding to be let dress up in his tutu and do ballet lessons with little girls. And a lot more. Childrens ballet class teacher sued & usual hell breaking out. Its not just the insurance industry who are at fault. As one poster has said -when is common sense and basic human dignity and cop on going to click in.

I would have said kick in except no doubt I'd be screamed down for projecting violence -hence the bad english.

This planet driven by lawyers has gone to the dogs.

Yet another "fringe" (see what I did there?) case by a wacky individual pounced upon by a rightwing website to warn us all of the imminent demise of society. The person here isn't representative of trans people and the case isn't representative of anything. It should be reported as a one-paragraph story on the internet equivalent of page 17.

In fairness the times reported on this month's ago, you can't say it's just the right wing having a pop.

If it was just a guy wanting a wax and no women beauticians would do it i'd support him.
Myself I know if it's something embarrassing I much prefer going to a female doctor. Haven't had a wax down there but the same would apply.
I think there's a place in dublin does it but it's all guys doing it for guys.

If the beauticians have never waxed this type of *ahem* before they were perfectly right not to do so. If something went wrong they risk injuring the client and could be sued.

I've been refused haircuts by barbers who only deal with male clients because they aren't trained in female haircutting. Nothing wrong with that.

In which case so what, this won't be the first ridiculous thing brought before a court. I would also not expect it to be a successful claim.

However.
This person has managed to get Twitter to ban anyone who mentioned his name(s) for the past year which has led to many, many erudite decent professional women being banned and deplatformed for simply requesting that a debate be had about this (IMO) lunatics asylum car crash of an ideological cult and its demands.

This person lives in Canada which has the most wide ranging and far reaching laws in place which are in reality anti-women laws which is how this person managed to file 16 seperate cases all against immigrant women who do not and never will offer ball waxing - rape crisis centres being defunded due to another trans gender persons complaint (one with political power) that biological men self IDing as women were excluded from a womans space for rape victims.

This is why this is important.
This is where any country adopting this cult of self ID can go if debate is blocked by cries of 'transphobe!'

It’s a man with a big set of hairy balls in a dress claiming he’s a woman. It’s an insult to women to be categorising narcissistic and trouble-making attention seekers such as this as one of them.

I've been following this drama for a while now on another site and the person involved is a creep. The dude involved is convinced he has a period and is obsessed with pads/tampons. He also has been banned from multiple FB groups for harassing women by messaging them about tampons, has used his past work with a kids band to try and hook up with a 13 year old and is also obsessed with "helping" 10-12 year old girls with tampons/pads. On top of that he's obsessed with seeing women naked in the gym, is a racist asshole(even making out that immigrants weren't as clean as him) and has gone after anyone who is slighty critical of him with stupid lawsuits.

Is that necessarily true?

Studies have shown that people who identify as a different gender are significantly more likely to be on the autistic spectrum. (See National Geographic Jan 2017 for instance, which mentioned a figure of ten times more likely). This person appears to have mental issues as well going by what you posted about him.

With autism rates estimated in some places as 2-3% of the general population (US source because a lot of this is US-driven; the Irish rate is around 0.5%), then you're potentially looking at as much as 20-30% of people who identify as another gender being on the autism spectrum.

He may be on the extreme side of things, but if as many as 30% of people who identify as another gender are on the autism spectrum, then I don't think it's correct to dismiss this person as not representing transgenderism. (Not saying it's right to say they do represent it either, or even that my figures are fully correct - just saying that care needs to be taken in generalisations on either side here)

I suspect you may be getting to nub of why business are turning (him/her??) away....if someone was a compo risk i wouldnt blame anyone for not dealing with em

This is the exact same thing

This has been building for years the person filed 16 cases on the basis of gender discrimination

Asian women who don't do male waxing; the current women all have religeous beliefs that prohibit them having intimate contact with males other that their husbands.

They received initial contact saying it was for a woman who may be on their period when the waxing was being done
when they pointed out that the person looked like a man they were eventually told that it was a trans woman looking for the service and they had no right to refuse.

This person has a long history of posting about how to contact 10 yr old girls th help them with tampons and pads
Point this out was ignored calling them "he" resulted in a twitter ban

He was turned away because the women didn't want to touch his penis and balls. This is the inevitable outcome of gender self-id and the Trans women are women mantra. Women have been warning that abusive males will use this to target women, but they have been shouted down as terfs and transphobes.

I have to disagree with you. It’s representative of everything that is wrong with society today. This person should not be able to do this and should not be able to harass and threaten women. Should not be able to waist the laws time. Should not be able to do what ever they want without any consequences.

If I went out and asked women to give me a Brazilian and then start threatening them because they refuse, I’d be arrested.
