Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Follow the whole mission. You can listen to all the audio, look at the telemetry, watch footage. Flip between all the audio tracks (CAPCOM, FIDO, EECOM etc)

    This is great.
    I use to listen to the audio tracks on the Apollo Lunar Flight Journal on headphones, kids would be asking what music I'm listening to.

    How are they communicating with Apollo when its on the moon? What technology is that, to be able to do that back then?

    NASA used a series or radio telescopes dotted around the word to send radio signals to the command module and the LM. The beep noised you often hear are called Quindar tones, this was to alert or prepare the radio transmitters that a signal on the the old phone PBX system was coming through to be transmitted to the astronauts as a radio signal.
