    Hi.
I'm looking to have a 'brake Pressure Sensor' replaced on my Volvo V40. The main dealers are quoting me €250+. I can source the part online for a fraction of that...can anyone recommend a Volvo mechanic that would fit it for me ?
    Many thanks

I can't help other than to see if you could do it yourself? Would also suggest you give a rough area for your search! ;)

I'm following the thread though to see if you get recommendations. I've not come across an indy Volvo mechanic myself (greater dublin area) so would be interested to see what happens.

Surely any mechanic can fit it?

Sure any good mechanic should be able to fit it, however I believe they would need to have access to the Vida system to calibrate the new part or so I'm told.
There is a message showing on the dash saying the Brake system requires servicing. The brakes were checked and the Volvo garage said the sensor needs to be replaced to switch this message off.

    Hi,
I got a quote today from a main dealer outside Dublin and the cost was only half of the original one.
As it's a main dealer and they have access to the VIDA system I'll run with that. It pays to shop around. This will be my last ICE car so I want to get the best possible price for it before the end of the year. :)

the brake pressure sensor on these is part of the ABS control unit if Im not mistaken.
It does need vida to program and you cant fit a used part to it as they are mated by vin.
€250 sounds cheap to be honest.

There is a really good volvo indy thats a friend of mine who has looked after a few users here that could look at it for you.
If you pop me a pm I can send you his number.
