Buying a Gaming Laptop

Can anyone recommend a laptop that I can use for gaming only?

I don't want to spend a fortune on it since I don't get to game often, but when I do, I want it to run smoothly.

For example:

Here are the Cities: Skylines System Requirements (Minimum)

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo, 3.0GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+, 3.2GHz.
OS: Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1 (64-bit)
VIDEO CARD: nVIDIA GeForce GTX 260, 512 MB or ATI Radeon HD 5670, 512 MB (Does not support Intel Integrated Graphics Cards)

But I want to have probably 50% more than that, since I'll be using lots of mods, too. I'll definitely want the screen to be 17+ inches.

Can anyone link me to a laptop I can check out?

I'm hoping this can be posted on the forum or moved to the correct forum.

less choice in the 17 inch laptop size tbh

this 15.6 would easily run that 2015 game well for just over €600

if you're running lots of mods could be an idea upgrade the ram to 16gb. do this yourself

gaming laptops really only start about about €600 so you're not going to get any cheaper than that

unless you try second-hand

Thanks.. I'll try figure that out. The price is less than what I was expecting.

Oh, that looks like it's running smoothly!

Yeah €600 is cheaper than what I was expecting so I'd be happy to pay a bit more to get one that'll run at a better spec for lots of other draining games.

for a noticable improvement you need to go up to about a 1000 euro really - something like this

6-core cpu
higher spec 1060 graphics card (a lot more powerful than the 1050 card)
also a better screen

that cities game apparently likes lots of ram so probably a good idea to get another 8gb of ram yourself. gaming laptops are easy to open up with a screwdriver to add ram and it's cheaper than looking for a model that comes with 16gb

it's also quite rare as a game in that it's very CPU dependant, more so than GPU (graphics)

gaming laptops will always have 2 ram slots.

but the medion laptop would do well enough.
