If the ref could have kicked that last free over himself he would have !!!!!
They took about a minute to take it and then went short
Should have been blown up then

    Anyway
Great the weekend with a win

Excellent stuff. Must have been a real nail-biter right to the end.

TBF is there a more sound out Galway man than Sean O Domhnaill?

Never saw that win coming after the previous game in Castlebar.

What a game. Here’s hoping we can follow it up tomorrow too.

Great result for the minors. First win over the neighbours at any level in several years.

Great win this. Important for the young lads. Thought we had blown it. Agree re the officiating, rossie reffing it, why not another province?

That's the end of the " record" of 16 wins in all competitions gone out the window. Well deserved Tom Morley a sound skin.

Will enjoy going over the border with this one.

That's the best €10 I've spent in a long time. Unbelievable game from start to finish. I thought that was it when we missed the goal chance in the first half of extra time but the lads went at it from the off of the second period - despite being four down. Huge character and fitness shown. Great crop of young lads and showed huge desire to play for the jersey.

On a side note it was brilliant to lift the cup in Tuam. There was not so civil Galway fans around us so it very was nice to shut them up at the end. Great scenes there with the Mayo crowd on the pitch afterwards.

That's two wins in two days. Let's do three tomorrow.

Both commentators on the YouTube stream were very fair I thought.

Sean O' D. is a pure gentleman though.

@Jhiggins3: #Galwaygaa team to play Mayo on Saturday is announced.

Good to see Martin Farragher's good form for Corofin rewarded. https://twitter.com/Jhiggins3/status/1147261996628434950/photo/1

    Dangerous looking team!

I have to say I like going to the Gaelic Grounds ......

Ya it has that feel about it. Any ideas on parking?

It is imperative we keep our discipline.

Historically the red cards of Keith Higgins and Diarmuid O Connor's were very costly.

The game narrative I've oft observed is if Galway can't raise their game for the green and red....

I can't imagine Aidan O Shea or any of the lads can even contemplate losing an eighth contest in a row to the traditional rivals. We owe them big time.

The minor win last night got a monkey off our back in relation to our recent deplorable record against them.

    Down around Na Piarsaigh clubhouse.

This will be a tight scrappy game with loads of scorable frees. Shane Walsh will be reliable enough, we need to get the finger out on that front

This is so true. We have caused a lot of issues for ourselves in the games against them. Discipline has been an issue. Galway have a certain corner back who likes to mouth so it will be interesting to see of COC is on him. As they say, they have history.

If we can tighten up a bit and not make things hard for ourselves with easy goals or sending offs, we have a great chance to progress,

Are ye not worried that EVERYONE seems to have the same idea and it will be full ? and take ages to get out
I’d like to have a back up just in case

We'd no real issues on a previous occasion.

I parked there for limerick game last year and was grand
But we are all coming the one direction today
How many will travel from Galway is another story. The fact Irish rail didn’t even put on a train home suggests not many !

Joe McQuillan is the reiteoir tonight.

Anyone concerned about the lack of pace in our full back line for today? Harrison has been poor all championship, imo. Farragher and Burke up front for Galway it looks like...could cause a lot of problems if they get the right ball in. I'm envisioning a press as well, which might create problems in the middle for Aidan. If they push up and Clarke goes long, we're going to see hanging kickouts and Aidan being crowded.

    YES
It’s the only line he refuses to freshen up
    And we do have options
    EOD and Drake

I do wonder if Higgins will play further up the pitch though and whether Plunkett will start

Drake is not an option has being found out to many times

Start Eoin O Donoghue in the corner and push Higgins up into the half backs with Michael Plunkett the unlucky man.

Yeah Harrison is not a natural full back

He's one of the best corner backs in the country but is inexplicably being played out of position

It'd be lovely to have tried someone like ger mcdonagh in the league. Or go with the guy who was outstanding in the position in the under 21 win 2016 - like Galway did a year later - but frankly there'll be snow in limerick tonight before Eoin O'Donoghue starts under this manager
