It's not the cool temperatures that get me down, it's the lack of sunshine. May was one of the dullest on record in Dublin (contrast to much of the country having a sunny May) and June wasn't fantastic either (some days like Thursday 27th saved it from being exceptionally dull). Most months have at least one redeeming feature about them for me. May and especially June did not. The lack of sunshine combined with cool temperatures just makes it worse. I don't mind cool temperatures too much as long as it's sunny (yes I know I'm in the wrong country if it's sunshine I'm looking for).

Totally agree. It actually doesn't rain that much (in Dublin at least) and temps around 19-21 can be pleasant. But it's the constant cloud that gets to you.

I always say you could cope with the Irish weather if it were just a bit more sunny.

In Ireland it's so rare to be able to wake up to dazzling sunshine and then leave work in the evening to sunshine too.

Reached 20C here inland north Dublin, and no cloud! The cloud and the wind actually backed off in the East, a proper summers day!

Yes there has been much more sunshine around today than the last four or five days. It is still cool enough in the shade though.

A glorious summers day in south Laois, barely a cloud in the sky, a light northeasterly and feeling quite warm in the sunshine with a max above 22c.

Since the start of summer (June 1st) at my location we had just 45mm of rain, I see some complaining about it being a bad summer, but apart from the early coolness it has been a dry-ish summer and the days have gotten warmer.
Take into account only 20mm of rain in May, so overall it has been dryer than average.
Back in 2012, I had 178mm in June and the month before that it was 63mm.
    So these are the contrasts.
