I got a fire stick at the weekend and set it up last night. I just contacted support and got the region changed without problems. Very painless. Be polite. :)

Just reposting this from earlier this year. Keep trying if someone refuses (just keep track of who you've been talking to so you don't ask the same person twice)

To many people start doing it and they will totally region block everything like Netflix as rights owners will start to kick up. Now they have the PL that’s a whole new ball game no pun intended as premier sports who have the rights for Ireland will kick up a huge fuss.

Odd that as it works fine for me on any device I've tried.

Works fine on my cheap as chips devices.

Been working perfectly on my Sony TV and Samsung devices for over a year now. Having said that the volume has never been turned up on the TV. Everything goes through the Dolby Digital amp

Managed to get it changed via a webchat on amazon.com.As an earlier poster said,it only took about 30 seconds! Now to watch that final season of Person Of Interest,at long last!

Only issue is that you'll lose your history and any Watch list you previously had set up.

I don’t mind, small price to pay!

Just got a mail saying my Prime video trial had been activated. I didn't activate it myself. I did click into it last week or so through Twitch I think, but didn't enter my credentials. So have changed password and setup 2 step authentication now.
    And cancelled the sub

I’ve never actually used my Amazon firestick for prime. My tv actually works fine for Amazon Ireland but my firestick does not work.

I think it may be something to do with my account settings that I really don’t know how to fix. I’ve tried different things and just gave up. I have my address down for Ireland and parcel motel but once on my kindle I think I paid for something in dollars and had terrible trouble buying anything afterwards.

Ok so, some people use the UK version, I presume it doesn’t work in Ireland unless you have one of those (is it VPN) things that help you look like you are in un?

I’m in France at the moment and both Netflix and amazon look like they are the Irish versions (lots of the Amazon stuff not working due to region).

So should I just contact the customer support and get them to put my firestick on Ireland or maybe ask them how my account is setup ? (Ie which region?)

    Problem is your end mate

Not a big fan of prime video due to its interface and content but it works fine, just as well as netflix or any other streaming service.

Know quite a few subscribers who got it for Grand Tour and none report issues.

I just signed up to the free 30 day trial and was hoping to watch a couple of the HBO shows (Veep, Curb, Sopranos) but it looks like they're all blocked and require and / or require an additional subscription.

Is this standard or am I potentially missing something? Definitely makes the Prime Video offering much less attractive to not have any of the above shows.

None of those shows are on prime. NowTv is what you want for them...

Only way to get them through amazon is to buy them which is separate to a prime subscription.

Just discovered "Life in pieces". Blitzed season one in one go. Well worth a look. Laughed out loud several times

Amazon Prime is now available on Chromecast and Youtube is available on fire sticks after they did a deal.

I would imagine one will be able to buy a chromecast on Amazon pretty soon.

Anyone tried chromecast yet? I don't see the usual icon that allows you to cast?

    Is there another way?

    Thanks

I opened the Prime app on my android phone and the cast button is there.
I just casted a trailer clip to the tv, working fine.

    Oh this would be great!
BTW final New Girl season is there now in case anyone apart from me interested. It wasn't last time I checked.

I watched a full show, so yes it works (I did have to restart my phone though).

From what I've read, they'll very shortly integrate into Google Home too so if you've got a Google Home kit you'll be able to watch via voice commands.

Thanks. Wouldn't work on my app but it wasn't updated. Just updated app and is working. Happy days

Option wasn't available for me on PC yesterday but will try the app later.

Delighted they've done this - felt it was so counter productive to block casting in the first place both from a chromecast and amazon perspective.

Is Poldark on Irish Amazon? Series 4 specifically?

It seems to be available to buy anyway. I don't have Prime membership.

I meant on the streaming service, but I checked and it doesn't appear to be. Thanks anyway.

Netflix have the first three, I'd imagine 4 will drop there first before Amazon.

Hi folks, I signed up for the 12 month Prime Deal that going. Logged into Prime TV via app on my TV. I can access Lego Batman, Fleabag Season 1 and final season of Person of Interest, does that mean I'm on the UK version. I haven't been on to chat to change region or anything yet as not sure what region I'm in but from reading a coupe of pages back it seem the above are UK content?
