Is that road near Kippure? Any chance of a Google Maps link? Looking for more of that kind of thing around Wicklow than my usual Sally Gap loop out and back into Bray.

You get on to it from the Military road here. Most of it is pretty good and great craic though there are one or two short areas where I dismount. Once you get to the end of the gravel bit you're onto a turf walking section with a few streams to cross and pretty much for the hardened MTB type. I have yet to take the MTB there and try to make it to the top but plan to given a dry period to make the going easy. Similarly, I'd love to get the loop in back to the reservoirs, but this involves carrying the bike for a bit here to bring you out at this secluded spot.

I once went to a job interview, cycled into work from it (30 kms away) and named it "cycle from interview" and it synced to a fundraising page I had sent out to people in work for a charity event.

While most of the area around me is very pleasant and relatively quiet to cycle, there's little in the way of stunning scenery.

Took a detour this morning, as I saw cycling signposted and thought I'd have a look

Also well matched to the Mayo colours on the wall. I'm guessing we're beyond the pale in this shot. Really fancy a wide ranging 1x10 or 1x11 gravel bike myself for no other good reason than just because. Love the brown and green, Brooks Swallow and bar tape?

It's a bitsa bike and I have to say loving it at the minute. I can see how gravel bikes have gained traction.

Saddle - Charge spoon possibly one of the comfiest saddles in the history of saddles. I did consider the brooks but at the price point of the spoon it's no contest.

Bar tape - Brooks I'll try dig out the details.

Gearing - 1 x 10 34tooth 12-36 haven't dropped and chain yet and it's just a standard compact chain ring with ground down chain ring bolts.

Wheels - 26" QR cheap ex hybrid wheels

Here ya go it matches very well and is very good quality tape. No complaints anyway.

Re the brooks saddle I see various versions on Amazon including a thinner for ladies version.

Any real difference? Thinking of getting this for my hybrid/touring bike. My wheels are 27.5 and 2" wide. I'd like to get a full mudguard on so maybe need to change the tyre size.

Either that or buy a new touring bike!

    Sorry for derailing thread.
