Every now and again I'll go on youtube and bask in some of the recent celebrations again, but what really stands out to me is the congratulations to Becker, Fab and Firmino from their Brazilian team-mates when they hooked up for the Copa America.

Yes, we saw the Dutch squad congratulate VVD and Gini, but in a way you almost expect that since they're European and know exactly what it meant. For the Brazilian lads to do it just shows how far-reaching an achievement it is and how massive it is for the club and a great opportunity for the club to build from.

Winning that game was absolutely massive and a real sliding-doors moment.

And it was the Man City guys in the team that gave Bobby and Ali the biggest cheers.

Is that really a picture of Mbappe?

    He looks about 60.

If I was told it was Cafu, I couldn't disagree.

I know, I was struck by that (age, not Cafu - though now you mention it. Maybe it's all been a terrible misunderstanding)

Looks a lot more like Tony Todd, AKA Candyman.

Hi lads, I got a ban in the aftermath of the European champions winning the final for, rather crudely, telling it like it is, anyway, have you all been unbearable since then like they all told us we'd be? I really hope so.

I don't think I have been, altho I was told by one utd fan that I was a bad winner.

I didn't do anything, I was just sitting in the office drinking tea and smiling.

you'll need to learn to control yourself now that we're going to be winning everything

No where near as unbearable as they were leading up to the final telling us how unbearable we would be if we won it.

Actually I would say Liverpool posters have been very reserved on Boards.ie Soccer forum to be totally honest.

Quite the opposite. It's been pretty muted.

It looks like those saying we'd be unbearable got it wrong. Same ones would have been unbearable had we lost.

On another note it's definitely quieter around here in general, this thread for example was started on May 1st. Would have thought with Barca game, end of league, champions league final it'd be well gone. Still a bit to go too.

We're not losing hilariously anymore or conceding 3 goals in the last 5 minutes so the "other" fans aren't coming in and kicking the hornets nest.

Personally i think a lot of the regular guys from a while back have gone "on holidays" and some have become disillusioned with boards in general.

Haven't even given any other club one thought for the last two weeks; just delighted we got our trophy. The terror in their eyes every time I see one of them in work is enough for me. :D

Some other fans, having grown up knowing nothing but success and trophies all their life, are now saying here that they're disillusioned with their club and tired of watching soccer these days. Some even talked about taking a break from it for a while. Just because their team hasn't hit the same heights they're used to. I think it's pretty funny reading those comments, especially as fans of that club were happy to deride us for supporting our team during the years we were crap

Most puzzling is the complete and utter disappearance of the posters "coming in peace" that became a feature when we were exiting early from some of the smaller cup competitions or, god forbid, actually drawing last season.

And it's dressed up with crap like they're "disillusioned with modern football" or "at odds with our present owners". It's beautiful and it gives me a warm, fuzzy glow. Knowing that some of the serial thankers are reading these posts makes it all the more hilarious.

Gotta say I’m in exactly this space also.
Immediate thoughts were to share the success with fellow reds. Within seconds of the final whistle I rang all the reds who are close to me and who I class as proper fans who have been through the ups and downs with me over the years of following Liverpool.

Same. Whenever I see the lads at work who were always happy before to bring up Liverpool defeats the morning after, I don't even mention football. It doesn't need to be said.

    They know. I know.

    It's a beautiful thing. :D

They all seem to be jumping off a sinking ship just like the players.
