Had forgotten Amazon are screening the Premier League from now on. Bit of a bizarre deal, all they've got is 20 games for the season and 10 of them are being broadcast simultaneously on Stephens Day

Toe in the water for them. If it attracts decent viewership expect them to go big in the next round of fixture sales.

Buying it all up and putting it on an online platform straight out this time was a risk - essentially a new product in the English market, you don't know how consumers would react. That subscription service that bought the Italian/Spanish rights went bust by the middle of last season. Obviously much more interest in the English game than Italy or Spain but given the price of what they'd be buying, Amazon would be very keen to know that they would see some return for their investment so this is a way of normalising the idea of watching football online for those who don't.

Going to be a right balls going to the pub on St Stephen's Day if the pubs haven't signed up, though!!

How does one postpone a late summer friendly, unless they are thinking about summer 2020?

Well, they are just postpone for now, and either reschedule for an earlier date, or next year, or cancel...

I would use one's telephone to communicate directly with club manager, instead of texting it or telling your mate to tell them it's off.

I wish the club would just come and say "we're signing no one".

Spurs signed him last season. Didn't make much of an impact...

City have such an easy run in on paper. We have a daunting one.

City have an easy start and end.

Also Watford game looks like it will be postpones in December for the World Club Cup but dates for that are to be confirmed

Not sure what the dates are I heard the Final would be on the 18th but that is midweek so that would be out.

So it could be Liverpool playing last CL Group game and Watford before flying out to UAE. Missing EFL Cup QF if they are there and the game away to West Ham for the 21st, but it all depends on the dates for the Club World Cup as they have not been confirmed yet.

Going by the season just gone the team performed better when they were on a run of games. We had two or three 10 day breaks where we thought the team would be fresh but looked to struggle.

Bring on fixture congestion next season!!

Amazon are interesting player as they could literally buy and sell Sky 100 times over. It took them 15 years to reach considerable profits, they are very happy playing the long game and cornering a market first.
In the next round of rights they could take the lot from Sky if they wanted to, your talking about a company with £250bn in turnover annually.

Sky paid £5bn for 3 years. Its a couple months profits for Amazon in the grand scheme of things.

Seriously though, he had a pretty good season by the looks of things. Best of luck to him.

did he not have a couple of howlers in turkey and they tried to offload him?

If amazon buy the rights you'll just see pubs screening dodgy links. too easy for them to do that.

If amazon buy the rights and its priced correctly, then every pup in the country would be overjoyed to see the back arse of sky!

Cost us €650 a month for the pleasure of having it before we binned it. €7000 a year requires a turnover of €28000 just to pay for it! it is shocking extortion for small rural pubs who might have a handfull of soccer supporters in for a game - if even that.

No, he had a few early doors, but generally seemed to do ok. The issue was that he hadn't been paid in a few months and then they came out with some negative press about it, trying to force him out instead of paying up!

So games V Everton and Leicester are the UK Amazon games, so we know there will be on Premier Sports for Ireland too.

No surprise here but the Indo, by way of the Press Association, claiming we're not going back in for Fekir.

There's about a half dozen players I'd take from Lyon, the fact we're playing them in a friendly this summer and have a French training camp is encouraging. If it's not Fekir it'll be someone I reckon.

Am I right in saying all the Amazon games and 3pm Saturday games are on Premier Sports in Ireland?

Amazon only have two match weeks however they will be showing all games on those two match weeks. You can pick which match you want to watch.

I think Amazon Prime is €9.99 a month for Irish customers but new subs get a free 30 day trial. Both rounds of Amazons 20 PL games are in December so between that and the free shipping for Prime members during the Christmas period plus the movies on their platform it'll be an opportune time to take advantage of the free month. And then cancel afterwards.

Check first with Amazon if the Prime membership allows access to Prime Video in Ireland. I have Prime, but due to regional restrictions, they only allow a tiny fraction of UK Prime Video to be shown in ireland.

Does anyone know when do the April and may hospitality packages come available?

Seems to only be up to end of march on the web site

Loads of then are already sold out, they went on sale before the fixtures were released so weren't in order

Problem with the Norwich fixture is that we could end up 3 points clear by Saturday. If we dont win the league then we'll have bottled it 2 years in a row........

I love Friday night kick-offs, so much better than noon on a Saturday which never suits.

Friday night games are the best. It's great to finish the working week, go home and put the feet up and watch a game. A loss can ruin the weekend but we don't do that very often any more.

As a LOI fan, i hate that English football is making inroads into Friday night football and i wish it wasn't the case.

That being said, a Friday night start for Liverpool under the Anfield lights is as good a start as you could ask for i think. It can sometimes be slow to start off at home on the opening day in sunshine and trying to get back into the swing of things. (last year certainly not being the case in fairness)

But a Friday night game with a brilliant atmosphere and our first as European Champions once again should really lift the players to get stuck in straight away and be that little bit sharper.

I'd hate if this game was at Carrow Road for example. But a home game is perfect.
