    Hi folks.
Been suffering with a long-term complaint and am losing hope on any sort of treatment,

It's a right knee complaint that has seen me
go from ultra distance reduced to an odd 5k jog and been sidelined for a week after ...I have already sought advice from a doctor who passed me on to a consultant in the ssc (I feel they only focused on one spot) literally 20mins with a consultant who diagnosed itbs have me an injection in the knee and sent me on my way .,...to seeking advice from two physiotherapists ...with nearly a year of single leg strengthening /stretching etc ..I'm still on the scrap heap ......can anyone point me in the direction of a pair of fresh eyes that won't just prescribe more workouts .....cheers

In such a situation I would research what physio the best distance runners go to and go to one of them. I went through loads of physios, doctors and consultants for a issue. When I went to the right person then I got the right advise. How I started was GP with sports specialist that used to travel with AI, referred me to the right physio. If you start with a normal GP then their referral path may not be the most specialised for your issue. I have had injections that were not needed for it also. I must say of the 10+ physio I went to only one was any good.

I also see lots of people recommending a person by word of mouth. Most of these recommendations are not worth a damn. If Olympic level athletes go to the doctor it's a good start.

    Where are you located.

I feel your pain Vego. Have been 'managing' issues for months now. Went to SCC also, had 2 x MRI's, 4 x shockwave therapy + 3 x physio sessions. Have spent a small fortune and am still struggling. I don't have an answer for you unfortunately. I have seen some improvements from focusing on strength and conditioning, has helped my sanity also. Not sure what Physio you use, but I would recommend Vinny Mulvey up your direction.

Good luck and don't loose hope, you'll get through it.

I can’t recommend Mark Kenneally in Celbridge enough, I was diagnosed with back issues by two different physios and wasn’t getting anywhere for 3-4 months. Went to see Mark and he had me up and running in a few weeks, turns out my issue was a hip one and nothing got to do with my back what so ever.
