Could have sworn he pulled out of French Open a few years ago.

He did. Once, in 2016. Pales in comparison to the amount of time he has pulled out of or not even started other slams though.

Truly remarkable that his injuries go away this time of year.

Not really sure what your point is? Are you saying he pulls out of the other Grand Slam tournaments with pretend injuries? Hard courts put more strain on your body. Stands to reason he's gonna suffer more injuries on that surface.

When you saw him lose to Wawrinka in the Aussie Open final when he was obviously suffering with his back are you seriously thinking he's feigning injury because he's losing?

so match resumes on Sat - shouldn't be a massive advantage for Nadal as it's effectively max less than a best of 3 setter tomorrow (Thiem up 3-1 in 3rd). unless it goes deep in a final set.

People seem to think he’s so unlucky to be getting all these injuries. The reality is he gets these injuries because of the style of tennis he plays. Live by the sword, die by the sword. It’s self inflicted.

Anytime he loses, Nadal fans are straight out with the assumption that he’s injured. His loss is NEVER down to the other player being better.

Take the Cilic match for example in AUS Open 2018 for example. Nadal was full of beans in the third set. Looked full of running. Cilic stuck with him and wore him down. Yet in Nadal fans’ eyes he only won because Nadal was injured. That’s the frustrating thing about Nadal. Every loss has to be explained by an injury.

I don’t believe his injuries are as bad as he makes out, as he comes back during the clay season repeatedly looking as good as new.

Unless there are some shady goings-on that enable such a fast recovery.....

He suffered a grade one tear on his hip! MRI confirmed that. Nadal is the biggest fighter on tour. He's pulled out of a grand slam match maybe twice in his whole career! You're making him out to be some sort of quit merchant when that is clearly not the case.

Strong rumors that Djokovic refused to play and the tournament organizers bowed to his demands. There was 3 and a half hours of play left and it was no longer raining (the sun eventually even came out) when they made the bizarre decision to halt play for the day.

    Pure disgusting if true.

He walked off court too when it started raining before the umpire even called play to be suspended.

Toys out of the pram stuff.

Tournament Director has denied that Djokovic legged it, and the rumour has been retracted by the person who spread it ( yer wan from Eurosport).
Incompitancy to call it off with sky's clearing, but in fairness if you have umbrellas flying across the court it should have been called off half an hour before

Well it certainly seemed to get 'worse' when he went a set and a break down. It was claimed he hurt his back mid-match, and then the story was changed to the pre-match warm-up when people pointed out that Wawrinka had won the first set fair and square. All very convenient.

Very disappointed Anisimova didn't make the final. And as for the final we do have... wow! That has to be the most random grand slam final ever, right? Well barring the early days of the Australia Open when anyone could make it. It's certainly the most random one since I started following tennis back in 2011. Barty is obviously the favourite, but I just think we'll get one final twist with Vondrousova taking the the title. And as for Vondrousova, I feel so out of the loop. I watched a little bit of her match with Martic, but apart from that, I genuinely don't think I've ever seen her play. Overall I think I'm rooting for Barty, but at the same time I'm not sure I'm ready for a world that has her as a grand slam champion. I've always felt she's very crafty, but with a game that's too lightweight to win a grand slam. Although with the draw she's had it wouldn't be that hard.

All a bit of a joke of a tour really the WTA at times.
Very lucky to be in the position that it's in.

    Agreed.

Looks to be a huge amount of leg room, so many stadiums I've been in you are cramped into your seat.

Third time saved by rain. He doesn’t deserve to win this.

    Thiem has bottled this

    Shocking stuff, inexcusable.

The last few games have been really poor standard

That is quite the choke. Even if Thiem can come back to win this, not a chance in hell Nadal will give him a second chance tomorrow if he chokes like that.

That's poor from Thiem I have to say.

granted, as noted above the quality has dropped in last few games but they were both pretty tired. hopefully thiem can recover for tomorrow.
