    Wasn't just IRA songs.

But Tayto is a lovely NI brand of crisps from tandragee. Why would the English attack them in song?

Not the original though, so if making assumptions you'd have to go with that.

That said, your beloved English see your kind as no more than a dirty paddies too. They're too unintelligent to know the difference.

He's not thick, he's a loyalist, has an agenda. He's looking for a reaction.

I’m certainly not a loyalist. They are every bit as bad as the IRA. So that’s your theory debunked before it even starts.

I lived there mate. No more unintelligent or intelligent than the average Irish person so stop blowing smoke up your own arse. Great people in the most and certainly understood the difference between a NI unionist (like myself) and the provo paddywhacker brigade Irish like some on here.

NI loyalist (that's as plain as day) and I wouldn't expect someone of such background to say anything different about a fellow brit. But they really are as thick as mince, it's the british schooling and it's pretty obvious up in NI too.

    They’re all thick?

    And all Irish people aren’t?

Or maybe some of them are thick. Some aren’t. Sons Irish are thick. Some aren’t.

And this thread pretty much proves it.

It would be pretty weird for a loyalist to state that they were as bad as the IRA but if that’s what you feel then go with it. No one really cares.

And Re thick as mince stop being such a snob. Some of the stupidest people I’ve ever met was in university and gained so called degrees. A good few ones From my school who never got a gcse higher than an E are now employing a 100 people and living in mansions.

I really can’t stand snobbish people.

To clarify I am referring to the IRA supporting, British hating brigade. Plenty of examples on here. You won’t have to look far.

I think it’s time UEFA act and put their foot down. Force the English to police their own in a more proactive manner.

If they put in place points deductions / closed door matches...

imagine a home game at a Wembley with zero bums on seats BECAUSE of these scumbags.... over a million in revenue lost in one night.

imagine England failing to qualify for a major tournament because of a points deducted scenario.

It would polarize their entire fan base and encourage their decent fans, the police and the FA to police their own.

Away from the stadium though how can you enforce or prove anything.? Think there has been problems around European football before. Were these people even going to the game.?

Where are the kind, cultured, civilised and compassionate English? All we hear since Brexit is about the most coarse, unsophisticated, undereducated, angry and alienated English, being used to advance the agendas of mendacious, flag-waving, wealthy populist opportunists. Even in early Brexit we had Ken Clarke, but now that poor, honourable man just seems to be exhausted.

Even in the worst of the Troubles there was Tony Benn. A man derided by Thatcherites at the time, but a man of incredible compassion, fairness and integrity to match his intelligence and eloquence. I distinctly recall his being on BBC's Question Time in the early '90s where he encountered enormous abuse, but he persisted in a very calm, dignified manner to educate millions of people about Irish history. By demonstrating that decent English people were willing to speak up for people who were being demonised he actually strengthened his country.

Every political system, indeed every people, need people of such courage and compassion. We're simply not seeing them anymore in England. I think that is a really, really disturbing development.

Corbyn, McDonnell both suffer relentless bias from mainstream media. I'm very surprised you can't see them, and the Labour MPs coming to the fore since he became a leader.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Come on now. Corbyn is a joke of a man who wouldn’t look out of place as a character in Viz.

At a time when the Conservative party has been brought to its knees over brexit Corbyn seems to be managing the impossible by making a complete laughing stock out of Labour. If he appointed Wolfie Smith as deputy leader no one would be surprised.

And as for anti semitism amongst the party and their failure to deal with this. Oh my...

No wonder there are jokes going around about Hitler wearing Jeremy pyjamas.

Tony Benn was characterised as a crank and joke too. When you get your world view from right wing media that's the impression you get. Regardless, whether you personally think Corbyn is a joke or not, I was pointing out there are still voices that dissent, like Benn did, and have way more power than Benn did for most of his political career.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

I rarely visit here, but read a bit of the Maria Bailey and this thread and can’t believe people standing up for both, but then realised its after hours home of the trolls or incredibly thick. If there was a zombie apocalypse these same people would stand up for them.
FWIW I lived in England during the 80’s and worked in construction with a guy nicknamed ‘Demo Den’ who used to give up his Saturday morning helping disabled kids and then spend the afternoon with his fellow ‘Chelsea headhunters’ trying to make opposing fans disabled.
They are a weird sub class with some deranged superiority complex that think everyone is beneath them especially the Irish, Farage and Brexit has rekindled this spirit, battering them is all that they understand.

In fairness, unlike Tony Benn Corbyn is distinguished by his lack of courage and myopia. He's still playing silly party political games, afraid to lose Brexit-voters by defining his party as a pro-EU party and thus realigning British politics. There is zero leadership, zero vision, from the man. I couldn't think of a worse leader at this time.

English Football hooliganism is f all to do with the Irish, or them believing they are superior to the Irish. You are reading too much into their **** the Ira lyrics. And as for brexit having something to do with it, come on now.

It exists the world over from Eastern Europe, Holland, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Russia etc to South America and the mad boca juniors fans.

It wouldn’t be so bad if they just scrapped with each other, but despite the claim that normal fans or scarfers are not targeted, it is the normal fan who suffers most.

Our local bar at the weekend used to be like a scene from saving private Ryan. Men with the drink in them is a sight to behold. Add a large group together who form a temporary tribe in the name of their country, or club etc and you have a perfect recipe for insanity.

I see comments about British this / that . Be in no doubt these people in England don’t see Britain as an equal union of countries. Britain is England and the countries it “ owns “ . Namely Scotland Wales and Ireland.
The fact that Ireland rebelled against them means we were insolent. How dare we not want to be controlled by England.! And like a cheeky kid who’s pissed off the teacher, when the opportunity arises they try to stick the boot in.
The consequence of Wales and Scotland voting for devolved government and maybe independence has been a spike in English nationalism.
Some of the most rabid English thugs I met had Irish parents but once in a pack they seemed to overcompensate for this by being the most thuggish.
The skin head ultra loyalists may think he’s one of them , but if they don’t toe their line he will be just another Paddy . And be treated as such .

I used to live in Inchicore and got well used to travel disruptions when Pats played at home. Remember one young (early 20s late teens) fan supporting Shamrock Rover attacking a police women. Ever country has it's share of scum.

The founders of the EDL Tommy Robinson (Stephen Lennon) and his cousin Stephen Carroll both have Irish parents from Dublin. Anne Marie Waters leader of For Britain, is actually from Dublin herself and has an Irish accent.

Piers Morgans another one. His real name is Piers O'Meara. Father was an Irish dentist but died when he was young, took his step fathers name then I think. He usually plays that Irish card sometimes. Mind you he's not a far right thug, just an annoying muppet.
