If you tow a caravan from Dublin to Wexford the locals could think you're a travellers, or worse - a Dubliner.

Most of the time I've seen travellers travelling on the road they appear to be in large groups with caravans.

Avoid calling to houses selling tools, socks, knives, etc.

    Avoid wearing shiny black shoes.

Don't post videos online looking for a fight with people.

Literally thousands of tourists/people who have Caravans for summer tow them all the time. No one thinks anything of it.

I do when I meet them swaying along the narrow winding roads in my part of the Wild Atlantic Way.

I feel much the same way about them as the Russian gunners did when they saw the Light Brigade charging towards them, although sadly I don't have any artillery guns in my Fiesta.

And don't get me started on the witless cretins driving hired camper vans down the same roads.

Have towed caravan all over the country and for years through France too.

Who gives a flying shiit what complete strangers think of you ?? I certainly don’t.

The ownership and use of caravans has soared here in recent years.

Will you be wearing a vest, gold chain and a hat? Are you obese and do you have very hairy shoulders? Will two similar looking gentlemen be sitting alongside you in your Ford Transit?

Its cool to be a traveler. Something different.

Lol i was helping a friend with a horse show in the UK we weren't towing a caravan but a horse box.

He has a kildare /Dublin accent hybrid I have a rather appallingly strong d4 accent (don't judge me )EVERYONE thought we travelers except for the people at the show. Even there some people probably thought we were.

I was like cool I am a gypsy!

To clarify, I'm referring to the inevitable 50kph main road doddler with a 2 mile tailback.

I missed the k saw 50 and thought you'd put down mph.

Anytime I see someone towing a caravan I always think, why spent 5k on one of those to park in a field and take a sh!te in a press sure that's not a holiday at all

Ah now, be nice. Caravans mean a lot more than a holiday to some people.

As we're constantly told these days, it's 'dehr gadd givvun rih-ta-liv lyke de daycent feine hanast payple wid-ayre childrun' and all that. It's a way of life. For every person who likes scrapyards more than they like hot running water, a caravan is the place they lay their head and call home.

    Hanast-ta-gadd.

Both have serious pro’ and con’s
Talking to campsite owners the numbers of both are rising year on year.

It’s not a holiday that every family will enjoy but for those who do it’s great fun.

All you have to do is make sure you don't tow it with a van or a jeep. Use a car and people will simply assume you're Dutch and carry on.
