I have used weather shield the last couple of times but i came across acrylic paint with 10 to 15 year guarantee. What are peoples opinions on acrylic paint? Is it better? Are there downsides?
    Thanks

I don't know anything about it, but I know I'd get bored looking at the same colour for 15 years, and would want to change it before then anyway.

We had a mold problem in an internal ensuite (it was badly ventilated) and we got it cleaned out, a new extractor fan put in etc and dried it out. But the ceiling still looked stained and when we next got the place painted the guy suggested using a white exterior acrylic paint for the bathroom ceilings and its been perfect since (3 years now).

What brand did you see because I am thinking of using it in a different area now that would be susceptible to damp.

exterior paint ( the decent ones) have fungicide/anti mould in them.

Says water based on their website, am i missing something?

    Edit:
On the data sheet on the website it says "Weathershield Smooth Masonry Paint is an exterior quality emulsion paint
based on an all acrylic resin."

Based on an all acrylic resin?

I have used water to clean rollers and brushes after using weather shield but proper acrylic paint wont clean off with water.

The acrylic resin is suspended in a water-based emulsion.

I'm not sure what you mean by "proper acrylic paint". Do you mean oil/solvent-based?
